i'm 3rd generation american. my nonni came on the bat, as did my pop...he came to fight in WW2 with his brothers.

Just keeps getting better...

Your Nonni and Pop came on a bat? Big bat like Barry Bonds swings or little bat like the giveaways On bat night?

Priceless

Ha haaaaaaaaahaaaaaa!!!

Now that the Sox are out of their 89 years of losing and the Patriots have turned what was the laughing stock in the NFL around it is now the place to be....

Yeah let's just use since 2001 bc before that Boston is a dumpster fire.

I'm on the floor...lol

Read the article. This was from the New York Times! Hardly a pro-Boston bias.

I laugh at the carved out period of time or snapshot. Not too far in the distant pat Boston was the place where we would laugh about but not too loudly bc it was like picking on the less fortunate.

Now the best. lol

Answer it Dumbo. How did it feel prior to your strategic slice of Boston history after 2001?

Prior to 2001 as a Pats fan? Sox fan? How did it feel?

Ohh that's right ya just hopped on. Pathetic

Actually, the Red Sox were very competitive/successful for much of the 80's and 90's, but they just didn't win a World Series. That's what this article is about; success(not necessarily winning it all). The Patriots, also, lost 2 Super Bowls along the way. The Bruins made the playoffs every year for a looong time. They even made it to the SCF, but lost. In short, Boston had a lot of good teams before 2001. They just started winning titles in bunches after that. I want to say it was 1986 that all 4 Major teams went to the Finals?? Something like that? And, of course, the Celtics were THE NBA team for about 40 years.

But the point is that before the Red Sox and Patriots caught on, you had multiple championships from the Bruins and double digit championships from the Celtics.

And even when the Red Sox lost it was often "epic" Carlton Fisk, Bill Buckner. It's a good sports town. There are few that have had better success.

How did they account for the Yankees and their 20 something championships?

That was offset by their other 15 pro sports franchises all sucking.

Don't they finish in last place in baseball every season?

Like I said I give to NE/Bostonwhat they give to others; no slack.

Great they went to title games and lost. Means what? They lost.

It's the most insecure fanbase in America

It's why you get threads like this

Only from Boston

You can't argue with the results. If your city has all 4 teams win a title in a decade, they deserve to vault to the top, as well.

Except that is what they are basing "success" on. Please, read the article to see what the criteria was.
