If yer gonna try and talk shit about the NBA at least know what you're talking about.

For the cup...now pay close attention...scoring margin matters. You wanna win each game by as many points possible.
TO SCORE THE MOST JACK UP THREES ALL GAME!!!!

Well…

They should still be taking 3s.

But yes, they should also work the shot clock in most cases.

Although an open 3 in transition is better than just about any shot you are going to get out of half court offense.

So that is why they still take those shots.
I don’t like it, tlance. Not one bit. They have so many easy looks for 2 point shots in the clip. It’s free money! Take it.

On a separate topic, would you approve of a 4 point shot from beyond half court?

That’s ridiculous but reminds me of the NFL where you aren’t allowed to play defense in that league, either.

While reading just a few of the comments here one thought comes to mind. I’ve never made a single post in a soccer club forum. If I don’t like something it typically doesn’t get my attention.

It is something called pace. You should figure out what that means before making idiotic comments such as this

Quicker pace=more possessions

Yes, but you NEVER loved soccer. This is different. Many in this thread grew up watching Jordan and Magic and Bird and we all fell in love with the NBA. The NBA is like the hot chick in high school that got fat and gross the next time you saw her. It hurts, man.

OKC is allowing teams to shoot under 43% per game which is almost identical to the top fg % defense in 2013 but I know you guys don’t like facts

I haven’t watched NBA in more than a decade but I thought it was more popular than ever. It turns out that the ratings have been horrible this season.

“The NBA has experienced a significant drop in audience to start the season, reports Puck News. ESPN viewership is down more than 27 percent and TNT is down 16 percent.”

ESPN ratings are apparently an all-time low for NBA on that network. Any idea why this is happening?
Easy, they went the Woke, DEI, LGBTQ route, really nothing more to say on this subject.

Team scoring averages in the 80's...

'80-'81 - 108.1
'81-'82 - 108.6
'82-'83 - 108.5
'83-'84 - 110.1
'84-'85 - 110.8
'85-'86 - 110.2
'86- '87- 109.9
'87- '88- 108.2
'88- '89- 109.2

Current team scoring averages... '23-'24 114.2
'24-'25 112.9

So, y'all are crying about 6 points per team per game on the high side and about 2 points per team per game on the low end.

THE HORROR!!

Not only that….

But those 6 points are completely explained by analytics advancements.

Teams found more efficient ways to play, and people making it out to be some type of travesty.

It is math people.

Well, that and the fact that players today are more skilled and most players on the floor can make these shots proficiently.

Opponents are chucking up threes and missing. Lower percentages from deeper. But yeah let's add a 4 point line at 33 feet!

The NBA’s ratings have been heading in the wrong direction for several years now. ESPN’s first-month ratings are down 7% compared to the 1.9 million viewers the network averaged during the 2016-17 season. And the drop-off is even more severe than that, considering Nielsen started including out-of-home viewership from places like sports bars in its ratings in 2020. In other words, the ratings are beefed up compared to a decade ago — and the NBA still can’t match its past performance.
