I honestly don't know if Arizona is a top 25 team this year. I know I'll get shit from my fellow AZ fans for this, but we have too many role players and not a single guy I look at and say "he'll be THE GUY". Maybe Trier but I don't want to rely that heavily on a freshman. Hope they prove me wrong, but they don't have near the talent they did the last 3 years.

Lack of athleticism and a go-to scorer worries me.

I'd say they're definitely top 25. We still brought in yet another top 10 class and the depth on the team is insane. I agree there is not one go to guy on the roster but who was our go to guy last year or the year before? I'd say Derrick Williams has really been the only go to guy we've had in Sean Millers career at Arizona. I think the biggest question mark is how we will transition into having PJC running the offense instead of TJ.

NCAA Men's Basketball - Coaches Poll | USA Today Sports

Its out. UNC and UK tie for one, Maryland right behind them at three.

This would have been an epic year in the original 8-9 team ACC with Carolina at 1, Maryland at 3, Duke at 4 and Virginia at six.

Damn you, expansion.

Im shocked my UNC team is ranked #1 in the coaches poll. I don't think they are that great. I think they will have a good year but not #1 type year. They don't have that 1 go to player. If Tokoto stayed(bad decision to leave) I would like UNC chances a little more.

I do think Justin Jackson is going to be a Beast this year.

Can't make a full list, but by the end of the season, don't be surprised if the Houston Cougars are in the top-25. We got a squad, beaches!

Alot of factors go into UNC being preseason #1. First and foremost they return everybody except Tokoto off a S16 team. Looking at the teams that made the E8. Kentucky lost just about the entire team, Wisconsin lost 5 key people, Duke lost 4 key people, Michigan State made a run last year, but there's a reason they were a 7 seed, and even they lost two of their best players. ND lost their two best players, Arizona lost their best 3 players, Gonzaga lost their starting backcourt and Louisville is in shambles. Also, the incoming freshman class is one of the weakest in the last decade so with all those mass defections, they aren't being replaced with as many talented players in the past. And alot of the top freshman went to non traditional powers. LSU, Cal, Marquette, Purdue, Maryland, Mississippi State, UNLV, Florida State, and South Carolina all got a 5 star recruit and in Cal's instance they got two. That's over half the 5 stars in the country that didn't go traditional powers. Sure Duke and Kentucky got awesome classes again, but they had too because they both lost so much respectively.

As you can see above I had UNC as my preseason #1 team, slightly ahead of Maryland. I love UNC's OOC schedule. It should produce a very good SOS and they have a great chance of getting through that with 1 or 2 losses, maybe even zero. Temple on a neutral, Wofford at home(So Con favorite), @ UNI(MVC top 3 team), Northwestern on a neutral(bubble team IMO), Maryland at home, Davidson at home(bubble team), @ Texas(little bit above bubble) UCLA on a neutral(same boat as Texas) That could realistically be 8 NCAA Tournament teams they face in OOC.
