I think it was ILWT that postulated the theory of putting Rolston on Waivers. I assume no one will touch him, but someone might certainly take a look if it was only half his salary. So if you take that 2.5M +3 for Bryce that's actually more than Rolston's total cap hit, and the Devils would get to keep their draft picks and Zubrus.
i think if lou puts out feelers and someone decides he's worth the risk on re entry he will be gone that way for sure. plus he doesnt have a say in that.
its probably more of an option that people think
And i wouldnt expect anything less.LL has never given me any reason not to trust him with these type of decisions.Allot of other gms get nervous jump the gun and make poor decisions. To be honest i feel lucky to have Lou hes always played a major role in the success of the devils.
I'd love to see Rolston gone, but I just don't think it'll happen. I think Zubrus and Salvador. Wouldn't mind seeing Langs get traded after the crap he pulled last year, but I doubt that as well.
mm i think everyone would prefer Rolston gone but with that looking unlikely it'd probably be Zubrus.
If it were up to me it'd be Langenbrunner without a doubt as one to go. But i think the Devils probably consider Langs more valuable than Zubes. Even though i don't...at all.
i put rolston trade. yeah that sounds crazy but lets be real......he knows his ice time is going to be limited big time this year. and if he wants to play beyond the next two years wouldnt it be better getting ice time on another team? besides he knows his contract is the white elephant in the locker room. i also think that if rolston did get dealt you would see him get moved again at the deadline to a playoff bound team much like you see with guerin/weight/recchi type players for that "vet" expereince
He is not that bad, but overpaid and would be good to take him off from payroll.
So, if he stays I think he will get his playing time - unless he does not perform.
