Zion to Lakers in 2023.

Possibly! lol

Admittedly, I need to see more of Zion before I'm ready to say he's going to be a legit star....maybe Davis had already made up his mind he wanted out, but the presence of Zion didn't change it...that was telling.

WOJ posted that "the NETs filled an offer for AD" past week... can't provide a link for technical reasons, but you can easily google it...

I just googled it and the most recent report that came up was from May 21st saying that the Nets were expected to make an offer.

It was from Anthony Puccio quoting Chris Broussard and claiming that the Nets would offer D'Angelo Russell and Jarret Allen.

Didn't see anything from Woj and didn't see any reports of the Nets ever making such an offer.

And that was before they traded two first rounders to dump Crabbe

So they couldn't offer any first round picks

Basically, when you have the opportunity to add a top 5 talent to your team, especially when you are adding him to another top 5 talent...you give up whatever you have to give up and figure out the rest later.

Plus, AD is only 26...so as you suggest, he can be paired with Lebron to hopefully win now and then with someone else when Lebron is gone.

Also, if things work out as they should, those picks are going to be late first rounders anyway.

With the success the Lakers have had with late 1sts lately, I try not to discount them (Kuzma, Hart, Zubac, hopefully Wagner), but agreed.

Look at Woj June the 10th tweets.

Or google "Woj, Nets inquired for AD".

Do I need to go any further than 'I'm from Philly'??

It's been in the damn DNA since the 80s.....

The Lakers are like the Yankees and the Patriots, you either love 'em or hate 'em

No. @trojanfan12 didn't accept me on his bandwagon.

Actually, your Lakers fan application is still under consideration.

The good news for you is that it has made it to the 2nd round where the Lakers fans at the high table (like the John Wick reference?) will consider it. So it wasn't rejected immediately.

If there is any information that you might like to add to help your case, I'd get it to me soon so that I can see that it is passed on.

Assuming the high table approves your application, it will then be passed on to the one who sits above the high table, who will make the final determination.

I admit that it's a bit of a process, but it helps to keep the riff raff out.

Here's the official application to be accepted as a bonafide Lakers fan:

1.) Have you married anyone other than your sibling or cousin?
2.) Do you hold a job in which you have to wear shoes?
3.) Do you shower more than once a week?
4.) Do you have at least a high school diploma or equivalency?
5.) Do you still have all the digits on your hands and feet?

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions: you're out. You're too highfalutin' for the purple and gold.

If, OTOH, you answered "no" to all 5? You're in! Congrats, you freakin' hillbilly... lap it up.

Both teams can move forward.

Perhaps the Lakers outbid themselves but AD is now your centerpiece for next 5 to 10 years.

IMO Griffin is thanking Boston for keeping the rumors going about AD to Boston. It’s now clear that was never going to happen

And in this new NBA any moment things can change.

Yeah, I think this was a win-win situation.

End of the day, the Lakers probably gave up a little more than they absolutely had to and the Pels got less than they would have if the market hadn't dried up on them.

Both teams got what they needed and both can claim they "won" the trade.

Yes, I think that was the Knicks offer, but from what I understand, they never fully engaged and the Pels never really gave them serious consideration. It was the Lakers and Celtics and apparently Ainge blinked first, so to speak.

Don't think the Knicks included Robinson or Knox in their offer.

Without those two and with the pick swaps it was an easy call for NO
