Certainly Burrow was best down the stretch. I'm just not sure that's the criteria.
nowadays its not.

They should change the name or get rid of MVP altogether.

Just make another award that is about the QB with best stats.
Which back in the day MVP wasnt about that.

I believe there should be more talk about Burrow on here...I know, maybe being a bit of a homer...but I'm not saying he should win...just saying, I don't think it is as clear cut between Jackson/Allen without also discussing the year Burrow had. Especially when you consider the losses they had were well outside of his control, if that is a big reason why maybe he falls off someone's list. If he were able to win, let's say, 3 of those games they lost - his numbers would have crossed the 5,000 yard and 50TD mark with ease (assuming he needed to improve his play for them to win those games, and not the defense who gave up 38 pts on average in a 5 game stretch of losses). I mean, we're talking not just a career year - but a generational type season not seen but once or twice in recent times if that is the case.

In Cincinnati’s six games played since Dec. 1, Burrow completed 186 of 244 passes for 1890 yards and 16 TDs with five INTs, while leading the team to a 5-1 record. He led all NFL QBs in completions, completion percentage (76.2) and passing yards during that span, while pacing AFC QBs in TD passes and ranking second in the conference in passer rating (111.2).

Burrow became the first player in NFL history to record at least 250 passing yards and three TD passes in eight consecutive games on Dec. 28 vs. Denver, as he completed 39 of 49 passes (79.6) for 412 yards and three TD's.

This is Burrow’s second career — and second consecutive — AFC Offensive Player of the Month award. He also received the honor for games played in November. He is the first player to be named Offensive Player of the Month (AFC or NFC) in back-to-back months since Indianapolis RB Jonathan Taylor in October and November of 2021.
He needs to cut his damn hair.

Those highlights take him down a couple notches.

Should be MOP.

Most Outstanding Player.

Then guys with great seasons, on lousy teams would be in the mix.

High School Conferences do this and it works out for the best.

We have seen what Burrow was doing before. Drew Brees, IIRC, had about 6 years of peak QB usage because his defense was pretty routinely getting wrecked and it was all to get back to .500.

Baltimore offense, though, is just nutty. They're 16th in plays run and 1st by a good margin in yards per game. Its by far the best unit, offense or defense, in the NFL right now. If football is just efficiency then Baltimore will win the Super Bowl. The thing with the Ravens is situational football. You have 3rd and long in the 4th quarter down by one score, which QB are picking? Mahomes or Allen. Maybe Burrow. Then maybe Baker this year. Then maybe Lamar. Mahomes doesn't have the stats this year because the Chiefs were fine kicking FGs and letting their defense win games. So common sense MVP would be Allen. Numbers point to Lamar.

Not really surprised by that stat on Bmore - they are also one of the most balanced teams. Lamar had his year, but don't forget that Henry ran for 1,900 yards...He also average 5.9 YPC.

This isn't to take away anything from Lamar (who I've said repeatedly has had his BEST year as a QB) - but to show just how balanced that offense is. The toughest task on defense is to play an offense that truly can beat you both on the ground and through the air. A balanced offense forces defenses to guess a lot - and Henry and Jackson are both so damned good that they can take advantage of those guesses that don't hit home.

Nearly 40% of plays between Lamar pass attempts and Henry runs were on the ground for Henry. In today's wide-open offense NFL - that's about as balanced as you can get, IMO.

Its a big deal. Chiefs, for example, have the linebackers to slow down Henry but if they put them both in then they become suspect to the Ravens having 2 above average pass catching TEs. Generally speaking it seems like teams stack the box against Lamar in the playoffs and dare him to win as a pocket passer. The bar for Lamar as a pocket passer is much lower Burrow. Its kinda apples and oranges.
