There is only 1 real coach of the year trophy.

The COY award is actually just an award for the most improved team, which rules Saban and Dabo out by default. I think it also rules Huepel out since he inherited an undefeated team.

So I'm guessing it's between Leach, Kelly and Clark. I'll say Clark or Leach, and I'll go with Clark since Leach has been around forever.

Mike Leach - probably will win.

Ohio State has had 14 conference titles, 2 national titles, 2 other national title game appearances, and a 12-0 season since our last conference COY winner. It's a joke of an award these days.

With all due respect to everyone else listed but UAB's Bill Clark should be the winner. Two years ago his program did not exist and now he's sitting at 9-2 and looking at a possible 12 win season and a conference title.

isn't military academy teams different than others when it comes to recruiting? I think Monken has to get credit for that.

Josh Heupel, UCF

all this guy has done is ride the coattails of Scott Frost, and this year they look worse than last year... not even close to a coach of the year.

Lincoln Riley's team is 10-1 when fielding the worst defense in the history of civilization.

Rather do it by conference

Acc: Dino Barbers
Big 12: Campbell again
Big 10: harbaugh. Had Maryland beat OSU, I would put Canada here
PAC 12: Leach, the easiest call
Sec: Stoops.. considering Coach O, because he may get 10 wins and you all know you thought this was going to implode (me included)

Why they aren’t candidates for coach of the year. COY fixes things that were broken the year before

True. I'll give coach GQ a lot of credit for sticking with David Gibbs. And credit to Gibbs for sticking with Tech. Both of them were criticized big time the past few years. But they inherited a 100% mess. While not super duper great, they are playing very hard on that side of the ball IMO.

Did they let Kansas score 40?

Didn't think so..
Hmmm, you have a point. Just looked.

On Tech, Kansas has scored:
2016 19 points
2017 19 points
2018 16 points
