As unfair as it is I'd say Carmello. Until he either gets a title or at least gets to the Finals he will always be considered a step below the superstars of the game.

I think Melo right now, but in a few years, Durant......he's showing right now he can't carry a team

LeBron needs at least as many as Kobe for his credibility to match his mouth.

I think right now it is Melo followed by Chris Paul just because of how long those guys been in the league.

When you demand a trade, contract extension at 20M+, then how much help can you expect to have?

Say whatever you want about the Heats Big 3 uniting, but for all 3 plus alot of others involved, sacrifice was required.

Now as far as Durant, what is happening now is a prime example of why superstars often don't want to be tied down to small market teams.
The loss of Harden over a few million dollars is probably the difference between then at leeast reaching the Finals vs losing in round 2.

A bigger market team never would have let Harden leave.
These players/cities all only have a limited window of opportunity for championships. You have to go full tilt when you are in that window.

C'mon man, get some new material. ALL you do is bitch about Lebron. I'd hate to put you on ignore because of your incessant need to bitch and inability to contribute to any discussions. Believe it or not, some of us here actually like discussing the game, not crying over one player all day everyday.

Exactly. I love basketball and it annoys me that some on here only want to spend their posting time crying over LBJ instead of talking about the game we all love

It's just the same handfull of ex CBS loser Laker fans.
They say it is disrespect of the game and all of that bullshit, but we all know it's not.
ALL that it is is that James (rightfully so) took away all of the attention Kobe was getting.

30 team fan bases in the league. Which fan base carries on about the Heat/James?:wtf2:

D Howard has had his credibility tainted the most so him. He got to the Finals on a fluskishly hot 3pt shooting team that didn't have to play the Celtics with KG. And right now people are seriously questioning every aspect of Howard's game. And as much of a factor that rings are for other positions, rings are everything when it comes to Centers

Define what you consider in this case to be credibility. All four of the listed players are proven to be some of the best currently in the game. Credible on say a historical scale? Barkely had a tremendous career but never won a ring. As such he rarely, if ever, gets mentioned in someone's say top 20. A ring or two in his possession and Barkely rises up the list.

I think losing Westbrook during the playoffs is a much bigger factor than not having Harden whom they haven't had all season long.

I do agree that if OKC was a big market team they probably keep Harden along with Ibaka. OKC pretty much had to decide between Ibaka and Harden because signing both longterm would put them too high into the luxury tax for a small market team to afford. A large market team would probably have signed them both.

Bill Simmons crunched the numbers. The owner was being very cheap...OKC is very lucrative. This has more to do with the team undervaluing Harden and overvaluing Ibaka

Maybe but Im not sure its that much of a factor when they match up with Memphis. Reggie Jackson has been VERY efficient, OKC is certainly beating Memphis on fast break points and OKC is playing big. Im not sure the result of a series with Memphis would be much different with Westbrook. But who knows?

I agree, but if the would have kept both, the loss of Westbrook would have been mostly negated.

The Magic shot about 36% as a team from deep during those playoffs. Very good but not quite freakishly hot. I don't get why people don't give Howard any credit for leading that team to the Finals. He only led the Magic in PPG, PER, DRtg, OWS, DWS, Total WS.

I would love to know how many 3's they attempted/made in that playoffs. For example if they attempted 29 3's per game it means they were making between 10 and 11 3's per game which is still a good amount
