Who is really No 1?

So, based purely on what has happened on the field this season who should be ranked No 1? Nothing about last year allowed, no predispositions of any kind. To me it’s clear, it’s Auburn at the moment. Discuss. Obviously not a game thread, sorry about that.

I have Ohio State #1. They have been dominant in every game including giving both @ Indiana (3-1) and Cincinnati (2-1) their lone blemish. They outscored Iowa State (76 to 72) last week, which no other FBS team was able to do! O-H!

Based only on their wins this season, Ohio State's biggest win was vs Indiana, not sure how they would be #1. I mean their plastering of Miami OH was impressive, but the RedHawks really aren't a good team.

Your answer can only be two options IMO. It's either Wisconsin or Auburn.

Wisconsin has simply looked the best this season thus far taking schedule out of the equation.

Auburn has beaten two ranked teams away from home.

There used to be a fellow that had a ranking system based on opponents' wins and opponents of opponents' wins only. I don't believe it punished/rewarded for P5 vs G5 vs FCS. Pure W/L ranking. I don't think he does it anymore...or he waits until a future week to start publishing?

Isn't it funny that this thread gets such drastically different answers from the hoop top 25? Like what are we ranking our top 25 teams off of if it's not who they've played and beat?? Lol.

We've gone 16 posts without a single mention of Alabama, Oklahoma or UGA ( with like 7 other teams being mentioned ) yet those 3 are in our too 5 lol

I thought about that but I would have you guys at 6 because it was a home game and your 2nd best win isn't as good as Cal or Clemson imo. It's close though and I certainly wouldn't freak out if someone put you guys top 5 based on resume alone
