Go after Ariza and Bledsoe and get Jeff Van or Hollins...

Bledsoe
Kobe
Ariza
Hill
Pau

Very similar to the Griz team Hollins had...

I am quite sure they can find an assistant on the staffs of Greg Popovich in San Antonio or Tom Thibodeau in Chicago who would jump at the chance of being the Lakers' HC and would bring a winning attitude, sound basketball principles, and great D to the job.

Ed Pinkney and Adrian Griffin are assistants under Thibs and could be options. His former lead assistant is now with the Celtics, Ron Adams. I would be OK with Byron, JVG, or Ollie. If they do go with a fresh face, Pinkney/Griffin/Adams would be worth at least an interview.

I've never been a big fan of hiring college coaches, though I'm sure there is an example here or there where that worked. Whoever the best Defensive coach is is who I'd consider seriously.

Here is a tidbit for amusement. Yahoo Sports and Fox Sports are reporting Swaggy P wants to coach the Lakers. In typical Swaggy fashion, he compares himself to Doc Rivers and states he could lead the Lakers to a winning season.

I think Swaggy wants to be a Laker so badly, he is willing to be the coach even if it does engender a laugh or two. Sign this guy to 4-year deal already!!

Shaggy P. is a breath of fresh air. I really hope the Lakers can retain his services.

If Kobe comes back at even 75% of his old self and Pau, or another "Big Man" is on board, the Lakers have to be better next season. I'm not counting on Nash and I'm hoping we draft an instant starter and game changer.

In a couple of years, the Lakers should have a legitimate shot again.

Gotta love Swaggy P!! I agree, sign him already. We should start a "Sign Swaggy P" petition and send it to the Lakers!!

The Swags. What a great addition and I'll state it again. Sign this guy to a long-term deal ALREADY. Then sign the guys next door Xavier Henry and Jordon Farmar.

Pretty quiet on the coaching search. The front office is doing a good job of keeping silent.

I'll take a Farmar/Swaggy bench backcourt. That's solid.

An article a week ago on CBSSports stated the Lakers are assembling a long list of candidates for the HC job. The Lakers will interview George Karl, Byron Scott, Kurt Rambis, Jeff Van Gundy, Kevin Ollie John Calipari and depending on how far the OKC Thunder go, Derek Fisher has also been mentioned as possibly being considered.

Hollins seems to be close to a deal with the Nets. B. Scott should be clear favorite now.

I saw that Shaqdaddy. It explains the Lakers continuing player transactions without officially naming a coach. He is probably already on the job.

I see what the team is trying to do and I completely agree with it. Last time they rushed their decision and we ended up with D'Antoni.

Training camp won't be for another 3 months (roughly).
