The Lakers are also seeking permission to talk to Tom Thibodeau in Chicago. This could really good.

I can't remember if it was on PTI or Around the Horn, but someone mentioned the Bulls told the Lakers Thibs was under contract. So I guess that means they aren't allowing him to talk. Either they're keeping him or looking to up the price like how Boston did with Doc Rivers. LA likely won't be the only team going after Thibs so they might just strike up a bidding war.

If Thibs is under contract, the Lakers could easily remedy that by an offer but the Bulls would have to give permission and then Thibs would have to invoke his contract's waiver clause which would include a buy-out of his contract by the Lakers.

Nothing goes forward without permission, but if permission is granted, then the Bulls and Lakers will work-out some sort of compensation package that the league will approve including the buy-out cost of Thibs Bulls contract. If they want him that bad and Thibs wants to be the next lakers coach, things will happen. Otherwise, alot of things have to line up for Thibs to become the next Lakers coach.

I don't care who the next Lakers' coach is as long as he gets the Lakers to play defense. It should also be someone who will attract FA's and knows how to run an offense that plays to the players strengths.

Fisher would listen to Kobe a lot and possibly go back to the triangle.

Scott is more old school than we might realize, but I do like the choice if Kerr is going to NY...I'm not sure if the triangle has been his OFC in other stops, but he has keen knowledge of it and that will be good for Kobe's last run.

That said, 2 yrs might not attract him...gotta go 3 minimum with an option.

Coach K is the only college coach I really like, but Ollie I would give a shot if Kerr and Scott are not options.

Roy Williams of North Carolina is the newest and latest prospect the Lakers are going after.

Vinny Del ***** is also in the mix. I guess they are pulling out all of the stops although Magic is twittering in support of Mark Jackson. Magic is behaving more and more like a college freshman cheerleader. I think those HIV medications he's been taking are turning him to a little girl. Jeez!

Any one of these two would be a perfect fit, as the new Lakers head coach. Ah yes I can see it now. :pound:
