Metlife Stadium holds 82566 (according to Wikipedia). Do the math on that (per seat $$) and that is some crazy cheddar. Who gets all that money? The league? Metlife stadium owners? Jets and Giants must get a slice?

Even using the $3000 per seat (lowest price) that is nearly a quarter billion $$$ just in attendance money.

black market value such as stubhub etc etc is not =/= face value........

On the list of awful purchases, spending $3,000 to watch something you will remember for the rest of your life and may have waited years (if not decades) for isn't a bad deal at all.

I agree.

As insane as these prices are people will pay them which makes the thought of outsourcing the Super Bowl to a place like London insanely idiotic. Like the government would need to intervene in that decision because it's just too much money to have going overseas.

I don`t care whether its the SB or not......3k+ is way too much for a damn football game.
Its a terrible shame/sham that the NFL does this.
And as for the suites, big businesses are the ones that probably put out for that kind of cash.It could be a tax write of I suppose......
I could see these SB tix going for 300 upper and 500 lower, and to me thats a lot for a damn game.
But it also could be me getting older and tighter with my money too.:noidea:

Who does it benefit to lower the prices? They'll still just get scalped.

If the lowest price is $3034 today, you can bet that when the SB is nearing only one or two weeks away (and people know who will be playing in it) those prices will likely double or triple. Crayyyyyy-zeeeeeeeee.

I personally cannot afford it but in the future when I can more easily afford it I would see it as worth buying.

I would rather put that cash towards upgrading my home theater.

If Seattle makes it, i'll probably go and take my two kids. Its a once in a lifetime deal. I didnt go to the 2005 SB in Detroit because I knew the NFL would never allow the Seahawks to win that game and I was right.

I have been to several Superbowls. I bought at the last minute when the scalpers were running out of balls or people selling their extras were getting on the jet. I enjoyed the shit out of it.
The masses can watch it on TV and it is a great experience at a party.
One thing of note: When a SB is between major market teams like New York, The difference in the cost of living makes a big difference. New Yorkers pay too much for everything. Generally, it is cheap in Kansas. In NY you want a lot of $ to give up your tickets, but in Nebraska? take the cash.....

They "didn't allow them"? Seattle didn't earn a win.

Whatever you say boss. Tell that to the roomful of Steelers fans that apologized to me mid-way through the 3rd quarter admitting that the game was rigged, or you could tell that to Bill Levey who came out a few years ago and admitted that the calls were so obviously bad that he couldnt sleep for 5 years. The Bus got his ring and the NFL made millions upon millions with Steeler merchandising. It is what it is.

There has never once, in the history of humanity, been a legitimate excuse for why "we didn't win but it wasn't our fault". You lost because you didn't do enough to earn a win. Period.

Excuses are for whiny little pussies who didn't do what it takes.

The Super Bowl face price for the tickets are usually $800 to $1000. Then they are resold at the $3k and above. Just need to be able to get in the lottery to get one at face price

Although if you're implying I won't say the same shit to someone whining about a loss in real life, you're absolutely wrong.

Excuses are for pussies. Man up.

Is there a point to this comment beyond stupidity for stupidity's sake?

You've been questioning people's manhood on the reg for a couple weeks now. It's getting old.
