My personal rankings as of the start of the playoffs:
10. Kevin McHale - Rockets. Got a team into the playoffs that seemed to be destined for the lottery. Has a solid background.
9. Mike Woodson - Knicks. His adjustments have made the Knicks a better team. Jason Kidd kinda doubles as a second coach. Took the Hawks from irrelevant to semi relevant during his stint. Generally has too much iso in his offenses but he is a guy that can get you to the playoffs.
8. Frank Vogel - Pacers. Lost Granger and didn't miss a beat. Incorporates a system that works without big market players.
7. Vinny Del ***** - Clippers. Incredible trust in his bench and he gets rewards on the cout for using it correctly.
6. Tom Thibodeau - Bulls. Basically Doc Rivers but without the experience and inspirational speeches. Great defensive coach.
5. Erik Spoelstra - Heat. Will eventually be #1 on this list because he inherited Pat Riley and one of the greatest teams ever.
4. Doc Rivers - Celtics
3. Rick Carlisle - Dallas
2. George Karl - Denver
1. Gregg Popovich - Spurs
Top 4 pretty much go without saying and are mostly interchangable
