We have way too many young players to have great consistency on offense so this will continue over this season. Eventually it will come together is the hope. Moar baseball please.

This team has had terrible AB's since the 2nd game of the season vs MIN. It's annoying. We are so much better than this offensively.

The Sox have had recent troubles winning in KC - due to heavy air and a large park. As Ozzie used to say - "We'll take dat one."

Pressure of the offseason into 6 games vs our direct best competition was too much to ask out of these guys at this stage.

The won last night - by all accounts that's better than losing. Good teams win games like that (on the road) and bad teams don't. One game like that doesn't establish the trend, but these Sox battled back last year and I expect them to battle back this year as well.

Congrats to Jose Abreu - for how well he has fielded the position this season. Jose is now clearly above average as a 1st baseman. That is not how he arrived.

There was something about the texture of the KC infield - TA's cleats weren't ready for.

I've been defending Jose's defense for several years now. He'll never win a GG, but I've felt for some time that the critics overbash his D. He's probably still destined to spend his final years primarily as a DH, especially once Vaughn gets his major league legs under him. But in the meantime, I'm more than satisfied with Abreu's glove.

Hope TA is ok and just needs to rest a day or two tops.

Tim hasn't gone on the IL. So, I assume this will just be a one or two day thing.

Honestly, I'm getting tired of his lapses at SS anyway. Not that Leury is much good there. Leury is serviceable everywhere and "good" nowhere, basically.

Unless some kind of a turn around happens the rest of the way for TA this season. It might be time to begin thinking about making him our RF'er of the future. Then, making a run at Lindor after 2021 or figuring something else out.

I still don't think they should have paid him. He's a league average 1B offensively by every metric and below average to average defensively.

He's a good veteran presence, though. I don't think that's worth anywhere near what he was given. But... it's something.

I'll take the 'average metrics' of .293/30/102 over six seasons any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I agree his extension was a tad rich, but these days players like Abreu receive premiums for historical performance. I just hope the Sox can get to the playoffs so he can experience that before he hangs it up.

Well - he did lead the league in RBIs last year - that's not average.
