Devers with his 2nd home run in AAA, now 20 on the season. Hitting .307/.375/.588. Only a matter of time.

Bryan Mata's also been pretty damn good since getting the call up to Greenville. 2.68 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, 36/10 K/BB in 40.1 innings. Keep in mind he's only 18. One of the most exciting prospects in the system right now, keep an eye on him.

Chavis is hitting .298/.353/.582 with 10 HR and he's cut the strikeouts down to just 15.4% since getting promoted to AA. He's 16-40 (.400) with 4 home runs, 7 walks and 7 strikeouts in his last 10 games. He's hitting .310/.374/.618 with 27 home runs on the year. Get hyped.

Red Sox farm system ranked 20th by Baseball America

They've traded a decent amount of prospects, but they've also graduated most of their top prospects from the last few years as well (Betts, Bogaerts, Benintendi, JBJ, Eduardo, Swihart). Keep in mind the Sox were also banned from last year's international signing period and had some of their contracts from 2015's period voided.

the pitching still looks pretty decent, but there is a lack of position player talent (at least in the middle infield and CF). That's why I'm a bit hesitant to trade JBJ unless it's for an OF that moves Benintendi or Betts to CF. I like Ockimey a lot as a future 1B/DH, especially if he can finally flash that power.

Disappointing year on the farm thus far as Chavis was suspended for PEDs and now Groome needs Tommy John. Bryan Mata has a 1.42 ERA in Salem, but he has 18 walks in 19 innings. Tanner Houck has also displayed control issues in Salem with 19 walks in 26 innings, but he's also given up 6 home runs. Jalen Beeks is the brightest spot in with 52 K's in 31 innings in Pawtucket and he may be ready for the majors.

Ockimey's bat is also picking up in AA after a rough start. He's homered 3 times in his last 7 games and is hitting .243/.371/.432 with 15/25 BB/K as a 22-year-old in AA. He's batting .262/.426/.524 with 12/13 BB/K in May. Hopefully we're finally starting to see the HR power materialize, he's already shown he can draw a lot of walks.

After a disappointing start to the season (5.19 ERA, 60.2 IP, 8 HR allowed, 45/44 K/BB), Tanner Houck has been very good in the 2nd half (3.31 ERA, 35.1 IP, 2 HR allowed, 40/11 K/BB). Very encouraging.

Bobby Dalbec's hitting .255/.370/.557 with 51 extra base hits (23 home runs) on 85 hits. The strikeout rate remains high (31.1%), but he is walking at a good rate (14.2%) and he's showing off that 70 grade raw power. As long as he can demonstrate some ability to make contact/get on base, his power and arm should make him a viable major leaguer.

Pawtucket pitching staff has looked pretty good, particularly the bullpen.

Houck continues to throw strikes (26/5 K/BB in last 23 innings) and his ERA is down to 4.24. Also sports a 1.48 GO/AO ratio

Dalbec's hitting .341/.404/.780 with 5 home runs in 41 ABs since getting called up to AA, though he has struck out 17 times. He's hitting .265/.376/.595 with 30 doubles, 2 triples and 31 home runs on 102 hits. There's some serious power.

Chavis was recently promoted to Pawtucket after hitting .303/.388/.508 in AA. He's 8-14 with 3 doubles and 2 triples so far in AAA. As exciting as Dalbec's been, I'd say Chavis has been the better hitting prospect especially since he doesn't have the contact issues Dalbec has.

Garrett Benge (3rd base, drafted from Oklahoma State in 2017) has been hitting .318/.474/.455 so far in Greenville. Would like to see a bit more power, but he has drawn 26 walks to just 18 strikeouts. Speaking of 2017 draft picks in Greenville, Tanner Nishioka (2B from Hawaii) has been hitting .328/.406/.507. He is a bit old for Greenville at 23 and he was a senior when they drafted him, but a 2B with an OPS north of .900 is worth keeping an eye on IMO.

Boston Red Sox Top 20 prospects for 2019

Sickels' last top 20 for the Sox before Vox shut Minor League Ball down. the farm could be pretty good in a year or two, especially if Flores/Decker/Casas can break out IMO.

Portland is 95 miles north of me (I was born and raised in South Portland) and I have the NH Fishercats (Toronto) within walking distance of my house. When the Portland comes to Manchester, I always get tickets for all of the games. I really love AA ball and seeing the Red Sox potential future is worth the walk across the Merrimack River.

Ockimey's hitting .220/.379/.500 in Pawtucket with 12 XBH (6 doubles, 1 triple, 5 home runs) and a 19/27 BB/K ratio. Nice to see him walking a ton and the power showing up so far. Have a feeling we'll see him up later this summer.

Casas hitting .232/.312/.453 so far in Greenville. Slow start, but he has been hitting .263 with 3 home runs over his last 10. His GB/FB rate is pretty high and he is striking out a pretty good amount (34 in 109 PA)

Duran killing it in Salem. .395/.449/.516 with 13 stolen bases in 30 games. He's now hit .369/.411/.516 through 97 minor league games. Kiley McDaniel said in one of his recent chats that Duran might be an 80 runner.
