Welcome to the party for Madrigal - you could really see his value today. His 1st to 3rd on a single to left was awesome. Now he's a 300 hitter.

Grandal finally had a big game as well.

Cease did his job pretty well this outing.

Last year if someone like TA was out - that team would have just punch the time clock today.

Also Ricky Renteria's substitutions and rotations even look good from the vantage point of today.

They have some good young arms and Keuchel. I think they are ready to be a playoff team.

Another good sign today - Moncada worked counts to 3-2 and walked twice. I think his KOs are going to shrink.

One more legit top end starter... but also consistency from the 4 and 5 spots. The latter could come from within but based on Kopech and Cease that is no guarantee. Today’s game isn’t nearly enough to answer that question mark.

That said. I’m not complaining because I’ll take any playoff baseball. That’s what you do when you cheer for a franchise over a century old that has never gone to the playoffs in b2b seasons.

I'm not saying they are totally stacked like the Dodgers. But they did a 3 year rebuild and this is year one of trying to compete. I'd like to see them get one more 2/3 level starter, but I think they make the playoffs this year easy with 8 teams making it.
