Dont care for Romo but thats me.The kid will be real in time!

No doubt. He was a rookie last year and will get better. My list was solely an 'as of right now' deal.

To be clear..... I like Dalton and I think he has the potential to become very good. I'm just rating him as I see him right now.

Starters better than Dalton -- Romo, E. Manning, Vick, Cutler, Stafford, Rodgers, Ryan, Newton, Brees, Big Ben, Flacco (#1), Schwab, Rivers, P Manning, Brady.

Anyone else that should be on this list?

Romo - inconsistent
E. Manning - won the superbowl, can't contradict you
Vick - old Vick or young Vick?
Cutler - We really don't know what he's capable of, as he plays for the Bears, which is best as a running team
Stafford - Someone kept saying the Lions were going to win the SuperBowl last year, I was called an idiot for saying "they will collapse" I exaggerated, but I will still say they won't go far
Rodgers - can't disagree,
Ryan - not sure, but he's got a better receiving duo, Ryan is often not as good as Ryan.
Newton - is a freak and needs a better defense, also needs to cut down on turnovers
Brees - have to agree
Big Ben - should be past his prime now, he's stopped raping chicks and got married.
Flacco (#1) - well duh, Flacco is better than Brett Favre and Johnny Unitas combined!!!
Schwab - well, he's ahead of Dalton, shame Schwab got injured, its hard to gauge
Rivers - what happened to this guy? I would say he should be ahead of Dalton, but no guarantees this season
P Manning - He should have never come back, and should have retired. One hit to the neck and he will be retired.
Brady - Brady is the man, can't argue.

Overall, I would have to say, lets let the future play itself out. He's only played one year in the pros, lets get some more tape on the guy before we consider him a bust.

After just one season Dalton ranks in the middle of NFL starters, and has tremendous potential upside......this season the question is will he take a step forward, or backwards?

Ron Jaworski put him 19th. I'd say that's pretty close. I like Dalton as much as anybody, but let's not get ridiculous here, and after 1 season start saying he's a top 10 QB. He's not...yet.

I think he'll be up there quickly though. I'm still checking in, there's just usually nobody talking.

He put Palmer 20th......difference is Dalton is trending upward, and Palmer downward......

If Flamingray were still here he would have had a fit with the Pamer rating.

My issue wouldn't be with the ranking - not that I agree, but with the person (generally speaking) giving the ranking. While QB isn't a relatively overly difficult position to rank, rarely does an "analyst" put any real effort in actually analyzing players at a position.

Here's what Jaws said about Carson BTW: “I'm a big Carson Palmer fan, so I am very anxious to see Palmer in 2012. He was erratic and inconsistent with his accuracy and his decision making last season. That must improve or he'll remain a middle-of-the-pack quarterback.”

Jaws on Dalton: "The more I evaluated Dalton, the more I liked him. He does have some arm strength limitations, but he compensates very well with his anticipation and his accuracy. That was particularly evident in the red zone. And that is an absolutely critical measure of a quarterback. The numbers were exceptional: 15 touchdowns, no interceptions. Dalton was very effective in the boot action pass game. He did that well at TCU, and his ability to throw accurately on the run transitioned well to the NFL."
“Overall, Dalton threw with great touch. What also stood out was his willingness to look down the gun barrel, to deliver the football in the face of pressure. You have to do that in the NFL. You will get hit. You still have to make the throws."
“As I look ahead to the 2012 season, I expect Dalton to improve. The pass game concepts of offensive coordinator Jay Gruden mesh perfectly with Dalton's skill set. I would not be surprised if a year from now Dalton is approaching my top 10. He has a chance to make that kind of jump in one season.”
