Once upon a time it used to be a debate between him and LeBron too. Time flies.

Not a real debate, unless you are talking before their rookie seasons.

Wade was the other guy from that class who was truly elite.

Meh. That guy's a very good player but he could have been great if he had his head straight. His attitude reminds me of Billy Owens. That guy had all the talent in the world but his head did himself in. He's not worth the money he's going to be asking for. I can think of at least 20 players I'd want to see on my team over him.

If he goes to SA Pop might be able to save his career and he can come off the bench lol

Who wants him? He is rather old now and still has the mentality that a franchise should be built around him as he is the center point. Yet nothing in his career has ever suggested he is capable of being THE GUY. Maybe he goes to the Nets or Kings, or somewhere where you just forget about him.

You can't build a modern 5 man motion offense around him, he is a dead end when he gets the ball. The Hawks made the stupid move of signing Dwight Howard who is as bad a fit in their Popovich motion offense as any player in the league would be. Maybe Memphis would be a fit for Melo, maybe there isn't a real fit.

I think Denver should try to trade for him. The Nuggets could get away giving up minimal assets for him, possibly just Gallinari and Arthur as a filler. Have to remember that Melo has a no-trade clause and he has to approve of anywhere he could go. They Nuggets would be easily in contention for that 7 or 8th seed with a core of him, Jokic, Faried, Chandler and Murray. The Nuggets need one big time scorer and he fits that.

All the other teams I see out there that could make deals for them, I don't think Melo will waive his clause for them.

Dark horse team could be the Thunder though if the Knicks feel like taking Kanter back.

I never understood why in the NBA if a guy puts up great numbers but doesn't help you win because his team play or D is horrendous, that, 'somebody' will give him a max contract or a near-max.

Brook Lopez is another player that puts up great numbers but is next to useless in helping your team win.

In the NFL you could lead your team in tackles and then get cut the next year...

Wade at his peak was a very unique player and impossible to defend.
He seemed to lose his drive around 27 years old though.

I dont know why anyone would want him truthfully. The guy has head a DECADE to get it done either in NY or Denver and he's been a pretty big failure to say the least. I give him some leeway in NY as they haven't had the best of squads over the years, but he had enough help in Denver to do something

In 2006, I thought Wade was going to be that 2nd coming of MJ. Even better than Kobe. After 2006, things went downhill I thought. he didn't quite live up to that potential. At his peak he was sickening to watch. Unstoppable

At a reasonable salary, with an accepted role of spot-up shooting, rebounding, and occasional late-clock iso-ing... Melo would be an awesome addition to any roster.

Injuries held him back at times. Still a top 3 SG ever.
