Hopefully the Rooneys can convince him to come back by making him GM/HC after firing Colbert and Tomlin at season's end

I don't think they will fire Tomlin, but I would not be upset if they did...that said...I think that would be a big mistake to hire Cowher as HC/GM...I actually think Cowher would be a good GM, but coaching...idk, different breed of player now.

Megatron already signed to be a Detroit Lions for life...

Doesn't matter.

If Bill were your HC he'd trade him. Yes, he'd TRADE Megatron.

He's a defensively minded coach and doesn't want to tie up that much cap space with one man - especially on offense.

He'd revamp your whole team.

People are under the impression that he's going to come in, to whatever team he chooses to sign with (IF he chooses to leave the booth at all) and just win with what's in place.

That's not him.

He has to do it HIS way. Power run, power D, throw if you get around to it.

He'd gut the Lions as you know them and it would take a few years.

My personal opinion?

He'd come back but to an organization that's already does things mostly the way he wants it done and all he has to do is get them over the hump.

You must not watch Monday Night Football. Gruden has said a dozen times he'll leave when they fire him. And Tirico is the best in the business at what he does.

You like watching/listening to Mike Turico? I can't stand those two. Horrible combo of vanilla ice cream (even though he's "black") and arrogance.

I think you'd get better football knowledge if you grabbed a guy out of the stands.

The one that makes me laugh the most is when I hear, "He might come back and coach the Cowboys" from Cowboy fans.

:laugh3:

Make no mistake folks, Jerry Jones IS the coach in Dallas. He decides who to draft, who's on the roster, etc. You know....all those choices that should be made by the HC? Yeah, he does all that. He even gives post game press conferences.

:wtf2:

Please show me another owner that does post game press conferences every week.

There's no way Cowher could co-exist with such an owner. For Bill to coach in Dallas, Jerry would have to shut up and just sign the checks.

His ego is far to big to do that.

I don't see him coming back. If I were him I would go to the college level.

Midnightangel, you sound just like another midnight I use to talk to on CBS threads. Is that you lol. Cower is not going to coach again period. Whether its the Cowboys or any other team, I think he is happy right where he is.

If I were an NFL team I wouldn't want Cower any more. After being in the media for this long he's probably gone soft.

He's always had his eye on the Giants, I'm not sure why but I couldn't see him coming back for anyone else. I think he's done.

It's just his name keeps coming up for this HC position or that one.

Not sure why he would want the Giants, unless he thinks Mora will give him total control. It would take him years to rebuild that team, they have no defense to speak of, Eli is not getting any younger and the running game is none existent. :noidea:

Dungee, Gruden, and Cowher all won super bowls, and seem quite content with their current positions. Has a SB-winning coach ever gone to the booth then returned to the field? Can't think of one. Did Parcells ever work for the networks?

yes.... espn....at 3 or 4 different times, as I recall.

seems like you're creating a lame subterfuge, when you really want him to coach the niners.

You missed the press conference: Mike Singletary was fired.

I wouldn't want Cower or Gruden as my head coach at this point. They've been out of it too long IMO. They'd be on my list, but there would be a lot of guys ahead of 'em at this point.

It's hard to imagine him even playing catch with a football. Bob Costas seems for athletic. And 40 times more exciting. Im tempted to watch the Wings/Jets game right now. Which is just wrong since I get to see the Bears or Packers lose if I just keep watching ESPN.
