With Dan Bylsma fired, where do you think he goes next? Florida? Vancouver? Carolina? Does he take an assistant spot elsewhere? Does he take time off?

Is Hell an option?

Nah I am taking a shot in the dark and saying Florida. He would help any of those teams but it would be interesting to see him in Florida.

Personally, I think the Panthers are the best fit - I don't think Vancouver is a great fit considering they have veterans on that team - I think he'd fit well on a young team that will be more receptive - the Panthers are that type of team - their young core can be really good - I love Jonathan Huberdeau, Aleksander Barkov and Nick Bjugstad up the middle, with an offensive coach like Dan Bylsma he can help them take the next step in their development and make them a more potent offensive team

Panthers have never really had an offensive genius as a coach, I think they need to change that and bring in Dan Bylsma - also the Panthers have Roberto Luongo and if you compare that to Vancouver and Carolina, the goaltending situation in Florida is MUCH better

I agree about Florida - it would be a good place for him - a lower profile place, with some really nice young talent and a better goaltender as well

He could prove a lot if he could turn Florida into a playoff team.

Well, Florida was a playoff team two years ago so it's not like it's been forever - I think the key for them is to find a good veteran d-man that can play 20-25 minutes a night - in the division they play in, they have Boston, Montreal, Tampa Bay and Detroit who are tough, so it'll be interesting to see what he can do if he were to come there

They have the potential up the middle and they have the goaltender, now they need to find some decent wingers and as I mentioned before, a veteran d-man that can play 20-25 minutes a night - maybe they settle with the number one pick and get Aaron Ekblad, which would really help them

Vancouver. I still think Disco Dan is a solid coach, think he can get the Canucks back to the level AV had them at.

I have little faith anyone could turn Florida around.

I like a LOT of their young talent, but they lack a superstar talent. They have a bunch of great young guys in the mold of a supporting cast member. I suppose Luo is their superstar, but still need a game breaker. If they're allowed to spend to the cap it changes things, however they still are a team that will have to overpay to land decent FAs, so it'll be tough for them to attract talent beyond what's already in the pipeline.

I think Aleksander Barkov could be an Anze Kopitar-type - love his size and strength

I love Barkov. Going to be a beast. Barkov, Bjugstad, Huberdeau, Gundbrandsen. I like all those guys quite a bit. They have Drew Shore, Jimmy Hayes, Vince Trochek, Rocco Grimaldi (not as sure he'll get to the NHL as I once was though). So, they have good forward depth...really lack on D though. Looking at their capgeek page, they're PRIME to take on some bad contracts this year if they want to. 8 forwards, 4 D, 2 G signed, bunch of RFA contracts to sign, etc. Maybe if DB goes there the Pens can offload Scuds on them...

That's why I think they should keep the pick and take Aaron Ekblad - he'd make their defense much better, some people compare him to Shea Weber - and there will be teams that will be wanting to make plenty of trades, so I'm sure the Panthers can find some good veteran d-men on the trade market - or in free agency, if they want to sign a player like Matt Niskanen they could too

A defense of Aaron Ekblad, Matt Niskanen, Erik Gudbranson, Brian Campbell and a couple of other guys would be nice

Oh God...

The Jackets need an assistant. Disco and Todd are good friends.

OH GOD. SOMEONE PICK DISCO UP!

Hey now, to be fair, he'd be a great assistant. If he's not making the big decisions, he's a-okay.

I realize my logic may be flawed but I just don't expect them to put it together. Every few years or so people hype the Panthers young talent and it never seems to grow into any kind of consistent success.

It's easy to do when they draft high pretty consistently. Their farm system isn't really loaded because a lot of their premiere prospects are in the NHL now, or at the least they turned pro, but with a full year of Luo and a few moves in FA they can make some noise in the East.
