Same kind of thing happened with the Penguins the year they won the Cup. Maybe not having the best regular season success could be a good thing for the Caps, who knows.

Yeah, but we have a problem right now - we can't score. It's consistent and pervasive. They need to get the PP turned around and need to start finishing. All of the big guns are cold. If they can turn that around, then yeah, they'll be very dangerous in the playoffs b/c the D and Varly have been very strong. But if they can't, we're going out in the first or second round again.

Just have to hope a few of these guys can find their touch, but man is it stressful to watch right now.

Yeah, I thought we played a really good game tonight (except Semin). The effort was there, we controlled possession by and large, and the defense was solid. Phoenix had about 4 scoring chances and got 3 of them. We had about a dozen, and got 2.

I though Neuvirth played pretty poorly. If he makes about 3-4 decent saves, we win. Everything else was like a slow hand pitch toss to his glove from the wing. Wasn't much asked of him (Coyotes held to 18 shots) and he didn't rise to the occasion at all.

Need to finish! It's frustrating, but we just have to keep working. They play more like tonight, they'll win more often than not.

I get your frustration though. This season has been about the worst I can remember, mostly b/c our expectations are so high.

We played really well actually, I'm just pissed that our Offense just can't finish. With the deadline upcoming, we need something. I don't see some guys will just being able to turn it on when it counts. We are headed in the right direction, just need to find the ballance. I know I need to look at the big picture more, but holy crap its horrible to watch sometimes in the offensive zone. We'll see what happens, but I don't have a good feeling right now about this team
