Fans are supposed to be fanatic. Do you even follow Wisconsin football, bro?
For 57 years so far. Losing is a part of the overall game. I'd like to see a grading system for refs like there is for players. The absolute best players don't play perfect games, I don't expect perfect games out of the refs. To use a golf term, you play the game as it lies. Sometimes your ball rolls into a divot.
And I will admit that when watching a game, I get annoyed if the refs are letting them play during the first half and then start calling every little thing in the second half.
I’m heavily in favor of letting them play.
I am as well as long as blatant PI isn’t allowed. Too many penalties interrupt flow and make games unwatchable.
Also i try not to blame the refs for making the correct call even when the rule the call is based on is preposterous ( like an offensive player lowering their head and causing head to head contact which is then flagged on the D ) but i do take issue with re-officiating a play when theres not indisputable evidence or ( worse ) when it appears the initial call was right and they still overturn it. If it takes you more than 1 minute to look at a play then, by definition , its not clear and ibdisputable.
I see it completely different. For 57 years so far. Losing is a part of the overall game. I'd like to see a grading system for refs like there is for players. Losing is part of the game for sure, as are the players success and errors within the games. But the refs are not. They exist only to enforce the rules.
Errors in rule enforcement shouldn't impact a game outcome. And when they do impact the outcome, fans should be upset about it.
For the timing part of it, all you have to be able to do is snap the ball in less than a second and the time is open ended from there. Difference with a spike is the ball has to be snapped, spiked and blown dead. IMHO you can do that in less than three seconds, but if that is how they interpret the rule and are consistent then I am fine with it.
I wish.
I cant figure out why Saban teams struggle with FGs. I know that kickers can be streaky but damn. I wonder if it is really as bad as the perception because of the consistent excellence of the rest of his units or statically if there is really a big difference or are they average but just happen at opportune times.
It is worse...the Iron Bowl miss was the 101st missed field goal in Saban's 13 years, more than ANY other FBS program over that span....by 11 different kickers. If we sucked you might could explain it away, because I can guarantee that the only schools within a dozen of our 101 suck.
It is clearly something we are doing wrong...I would guess it has to be psychological. The games this year in which we missed no kicks, there was no pressure to make them. I mean who cares if you go 10 for 10 on kicks against Western Carolina...but that is exactly what Bulovas did.

More tries, more misses. Even though the % may be subpar, the raw # has to do with getting in range
