I really don't want to have to read what I'm thinking I might have to. Lot of rumors swirling at this hour. I will just say this: please sweet little baby Jesus, do not tell me that chancellor Perlman and the board of regents were dumb enough to fire Bo Pelini mid-season. Amen.

They are waiting to see what happens at the game on Saturday. Not on the field but in the stands.

It's like a divorce. There's never a 'good' time to do it, and you just don't stay together for the kids. The relationship is dysfunctional and the lil' ones are raised in an unhealthy environment regarding mental health.

The strain on Perlman's face yesterday at the State of the University address was obvious. I've never seen the guy look so uneasy, so stressed.
The info released at this point from Bo, Eichorst, and Perlman suggest the university is getting it's ducks (no pun intended) in order to get a divorce. The schools attorneys are probably seeing if 'Just Cause' applies to the contract, they're probably seeing if they can bring in some interim people to finish out the season where a full coaching search can be done. The image of the university and it's football program continues to slide, Bo has been a lightning rod, the media lies in wait for his next antic to publicize. He can't survive under that microscope. I said Monday the longer they wait the worse it is for Bo. I believe the public information (Bo and his bosses statements) we have is enough to determine that the university no longer wants to make national headlines (on and off the field) in the way they have been. Regarding current and former players supporting Bo. Many of HWSNBN players supported him as well.

I think these official excerpts tell the story.

Tuesday State of the University Address

1st Reporter: "Are there any plans to reprimand Bo Pelini, or give a timeline for determining that reprimand or discipline?"

Perlman: I believe you've been told that I'm not gonna talk about football today, and I'm not gonna talk about football today"

1st Reporter: "Can you talk abo..?"

Perlman: (interrupts) I mean I love you guys but you know if we're gonna, gonna play, you're gonna waste your time cause I'm not saying anything"

2nd Reporter: With all due respect Chancellor Perlman, for the thousands of staff, fans, across the country that are looking to your leadership and guidance right now, for your reaction, can you at least give a reason why you won't talk about it right now?

Perlman: No. I'm not gonna talk about it right now. We issued a statement, the statement holds.

3rd Reporter: Could you at least reiterate the statement on camera for us?

Perlman: Yeah. That, that we're disappointed and that we are reflecting on the situation.

Tuesday Big 10 Teleconference

Eric Olson AP: Do you expect to be disciplined?

Bo: I don't know.

Dan Wolken (USA Today): Bo, how did you interpret the statements that were made by your president and athletic director last night, from the outside, that did not seem particularly supportive, did you read them that way?

Bo: Ahh, you know it's hard to say that ahh, umm, you'd have to ask them that.

Brian Christopherson (LJS): Hey Bo, did you meet with Shawn Eichorst and Harvey Perlman and what was the feedback you received from them beyond the statements they provided, what was the personal feedback they gave you?

Bo: Ahh, we didn't, there wasn't much involved there, we haven't had much discussion on it as of yet, I met with Shawn and I talked with Chancellor Perlman on the phone and that's about where it stopped.

Monday evening University Releases

Harvey Perlman, Chancellor: “I am aware of the publication of Coach Pelini’s comments, I am disappointed and in discussions with Shawn Eichorst about addressing the issue.”

Shawn Eichorst, Director of Athletics: “I am disheartened and disappointed by the 2011 comments published today attributed to Coach Pelini about our dedicated and passionate fans and supporters. I have spoken with Chancellor Perlman and I have addressed the situation with Bo and expressed our deep concern.”[/QUOTE]

I'm guessing the discussions he had with Perlman and Eichorst weren't much more than "is that you in the audio".

Bo wasn't here in 2001.

In his one season (2003) he had similar outburst on the field with Bill Snyder. There is a history, a pattern, a trend, and it's viral.

in which I hope he said, "yes, yes it was. Sorry. I said what I said because I was emotional after a big win and disappointed in those who wrote my team off. Those who want it all from us left the game and counted us out. I also said things back in 1998 that I regret. Also, back in 1978 I got uspet with my parents for not letting me go out, I said I hated them, I apologize for that too."

It wouldn't be a big deal if it's an isolated incident. It's not.

If I guess...Any of those other incidents attacking anyone within the university? Or were they outrages for him defending his team publically?

Fans would be pleased to know that we would avoid the stigma of firing a 9 win coach this way, same fans that walk out at halftime and flip the players off and wish injury on them

It doesn't matter. They are outrages, they are melt downs. The team is an extension of Bo. Is it any wonder they meltdown?

A CEO needs to be more disciplined. More stoic.

Also the fighting with players on the feild. I love Bo but in all honesty his teams do not produce. Narrow wins are just as frustrating to me as loses.

I dont know what I want to happen with Bo. If Bo could fire papuchis and take over the Defense I think we would be fine. Also I think the Taylor Martinez experement has ran its course I say we Sink or swim with Tommy Armstrong. We use Cross on first and second down and when the Defense is tired then you gash them with Ameers or Newbys speed.

There were some unsubstantiated rumors coming from reliable sources last night around 1-2 AM that Bo had in fact been fired.

Cotton is the assistant HC, so he would most likely be the intern. However if we push Bo out the door now, we better have already started negotiations with Frost or someone significant. We need a plan...

So be it. Needs to be done, one way or another. We'll be ahead of the game on a coaching search and try and salvage what we can of our 14 class. How many seconds did it take before Spurrier was on the horn calling PN
