So much spin in you.

1. Not a winning record, obviously not the correct as Iowa A State was a bowl team
2. It a better SOS, just not enough
3. Losses are more important than wins. Be sure to inform mid - majors on that one.

They became bowl eligible because of the OSU game. IF OSU had won, they wouldn't have been a bowl team.

They were 6-6 at the end of the season.

OSU was a 28 point favorite in that game btw.

I know. I also know it was right after a tragic event for the university.

I don't think that's a real excuse. It sucks and all, but at some point in the game it kind of goes out the window.

A real team would've manned up and played their hearts out for said victims instead of using it as an excuse. Kinda like after Apr. 27th 2011.

I agree, I don't think any of the football players knew the names of the coaches and players who died in that plane crash. It was a night game in Ames on Thursday, where I believe ISU holds a 7-2 record on Thursday night games. They're tough to beat at home. Anyway, the BCS era may have had its flaws, but it was still better than what we had before. I've always said if the BCS was implemented 50 years ago, no program would have more than 4 NC's b/c #1 and #2 rarely ever faced each other for the NC pre BCS.

2001 wasn't the Bcs's fault. It was Chris Simms' fault. Get it straight.

2008 was bogus. Should have been Texas. It seems Oklahoma has always gotten the nod in the computers when there is a tie for the B12...

2011 was bad, but anyone who knows college football knows that Alabama and LSU were undisputedly the best teams in the country that year. Their common opponent scores were nearly identical. They destroyed everyone in their way. Only Alabama would have beaten LSU that year. Okie Lite might have scored 10 points on LSU... and then give up around 30. They lost to Iowa State... choke or not, they had their chance to shoe in the BCS Championship and blew it. They BLEW IT. They gave Alabama a chance. It's not Alabama's fault. It's Choklahoma State's fault. Nothing else needs to be said.

Yeah. That heralded sec defense… the one that let a big12 mediocrity come in and be the #1 running away offense in each of it's first two years. Lmao@SECD

I agree with this one as well, however, I'm sure we differ on the teams that should have played for it. I think it should have been a rematch of UT vs. OU. OU had the best resume that year of all the one loss teams. #1 in the computers and the most top 25 and top 50 wins. Texas had the best win of the 1 loss teams and had a much, much better loss than Florida who lost to Ole Miss at home that season. Texas also played the most difficult strength of schedule that year in spite of not playing in the big 12 championship game. Texas 2008 was basically 2011 Alabama only with a much better resume, SOS, and more quality wins, yet Texas got left out in basically the same scenario. I think that's dumb.

I disagree with the idea that the football players would have been ignorant of the women's basketball coaches who died. Athletes hang out together and the football players date and try to date women athletes. So even, if the football players didn't know the women's basketball coaches, they would have known and comforted the women basketball players whose coaches died.
This was actually the 2nd plane crash involving OSU. The other was Jan 27, 2001, when 2 male basketball players died, along with 6 coaches and OSU media broadcasters. There is a memorial, "Remember the Ten", outside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
So, the event was a double hit to the gut of the Cowboys.

Ole Miss also had Texas transfer Jevan Snead as their starting QB.

texas butt hurt, ain't it great!~

Beat TTU and yer in. Pretty easy and simple, really, LMFAO!~

I love that logic. All the teams lost 1 game, but one of them choked it away. Losing on the road to a top 10 team is choking, but losing to a top 10 team on a neutral site is coming through in the clutch. Nothing like double standards. OU got the nod is what it is, but try being logical.
