What was your best game as a player?

I have played basketball from the age of 5 until now (29) and still play competitive ball.

After high school my JC went to a summer invitational and I had a game where I made 14 three's en route to 54 points. Don't know or remember how many assists or rebounds I had. Ended the game 14-of-16 from downtown. Our coach encouraged us to throw up the rock from deep if we were feelin' hot.

That was my best performance by almost 20 points in my entire career.

Back in 8th grade I scored 10 points playing the center position and in high school did wrestling and was much better in that making the state tournament my last 2 years of high school

In high school I averaged around 15 a game my junior year and about 18 ppg my senior year with around 4 boards and 3 assists or something along those lines. Just remember thanks to max preps cuz my coach was crazy about keeping track of stats. Highest scoring HS game was 34 which is more impressive than it sounds because my team played a slower pace than most high schools and only averaged around 60 ppg I think.

In College I played my freshman and sophomore year but fucked up my knee (torn meniscus for the second time and finally got surgery for it) then tried to rush back in time for the conference tourney and tore it again during a game but played through it and didn't realize it was torn for sure until after the game. Call me Derrick Rose. It sucks because I never missed a game in my life until college. Decided to call it quits finally because I was sick of going through that shit. My highest scoring college game was 28 but I only averaged around 10 a game both years there.

Had a pickup game on a McAdam court when I was about 10. Scored a layup and grabbed a board or 2.

I once scored 45 points in a summer rec league back in 99. I actually averaged 25 ppg in that league. Lets just say the talent was marginal & aging in that league...

I hit a shot at the buzzer from about 18 feet to win a game against our arch rivals, showered, hopped on the back of the bus and finger banged the best looking girl in school all the way home.

It was a church league game, though, so... sorta diminishes it.

Stopped playing hoops after my freshman year in HS. Had some decent double figure games, but it was pretty obvious that I had no future in the game so I transitioned to full time baseball.

I won 8500 dollars at a poker tournament a couple years back. I've won a lot of tournaments and have had some very good cash game payouts, but 8500 is the most I've ever won.

As for sports, I had a 3 hit game one time and drove in 5 runs and managed to steal a base(which is quite an accomplishment for me considering there isn't much difference between my walking speed and running speed) and had my usual gold glove level defense at first base.

I scored 13 once in a JV game because the starting PG was out sick.

Oh one more note is that none of the 10 points were from 3 point shots as the 3 point play was not added in the pro's until 1979 and in college in 1986 and high schools a year later and this 10 points would have been scored around 1973 or so. So damn the luck never was able to try the 3 point play

Sophomore year PHNHS as the 11th man forward I scored the final two at the buzzer. Was disappointed teammates didn't award me the mvp. Missed practice the next couple of days to go skiing...was kicked off the basketball team. Had similar experiences with high school Tennis (kicked off team for smoking in the parking lot) and Cross Country (kicked off team for drinking during practice.) Gave up organized sports participation after that, started hanging out in pool halls and bowling alleys...

Had my career high 29 against one of the best teams in our state, at our level, which was AAA. One of their players actually went on to play at Albany. I know it's only Albany, but that dude was sick. He's actually an assistant coach on Albany right now.
