What P5 conference not named 'The PAC' would take Washington

Well, IIRC Notre Dame IS contractually obligated to join the ACC as a full member IF they ever (at least til 2030) do join a conference so who knows really..

I feel like the only way they'd join is if the NCAA forced their hand and made some type of rule where if you're not in a conference, you're not eligible for the CFP. Otherwise, the main schools that'd be in consideration for the 16th school (at least off the top of my head) for the ACC would probably be Cincy or UConn.

Meh I don't see any of that happening TBH. NCAA ain’t forcing anyone to do anything and Cincy/UConn don't bring enough to the table or they would already be in the Big12. Heck UConn may not even have a football program soon.

Utep is mountain so going to East coast or teams going to Utep do this
Hawaii is 2 full time zones from the mountain time zone
so yes smaller conferences and schools do it

Those other sports can join other/closer conferences. Or just drop em altogether, past rifle, nobody would care.

That might depend on the economics in the end. The non revenue sports may have to go to a more economical model to survive. Thats how it should have been once the geographical expansions started to begin with TBH.

Own the western time zone part of it for sure. Just like WVU does the eastern.

Honestly I imagine the PAC12’ers that’d come over would be ok with it. Not sure others in the B12 would though.

Just means that Big 12 football is covered all day and night.. from the noon est kickoffs to the 10:30 pm EST kickoffs. Gives the westcoast schools a chance to play in the late afternoon slots on TV

I also think that the conference would hope that a home night game (9or 10pm EST kickoff) for a westcoast school would do better numbers against a (CST school) Ok St or TXTech than whatever ratings they are bringing in at this time

Usually about 1/3 to 1/2 the conference plays in those "late afternoon slots".
