What P5 conference not named 'The PAC' would take Washington

That sounds good.
But what other 2, if it goes to 16?
16 doesn’t work as you’re practically two separate conferences only meeting in the Championship game. 14 is really as large as you want to go and still have the feel of one conference.

What is missing here is the ramifications for non-football sports and because of that Washington makes zero sense for the Big 12.

If the Big 12 is going to expand the max would be 14 teams and I would go with:

UCF - Florida
Cincinnati - Ohio
Memphis - Tennessee
Utah

I just see Washington causing more issues than it’s worth. If USC was coming in the deal it might make sense but the state of California is becoming a nightmare.

That’s why they haven’t expanded. UCF is the only one that makes sense.

However Cincy is the world beater.

Yeah I could maybe see UCF, South Florida.. but I think they would stick to 10. The best bet would be trying to get CA and AZ. FL is great too but the top 3 schools there belong to different conferences. With CA, SC would be the top, same with AZ with ASU.
I've always been advocating Tulane into the Big 12.. swap them for Baylor.

Playing 9 conference mates instead of 8 also helps the feel of one conference.

I'd think the Big 12 would jump all over it.
I would go with Utah too.

No no no... you want Colorado and Missouri... and you want to ditch the any school in Texas.

We don't Pitt (they are in a GOR through 2030 anyway) at this time or ANY time TBH.

No fans and they don't even have a stadium, they have to rent one . WVU gives ya enough of that market anyway.

If we are going G5 level programs always always always go SOUTH not NORTH.

UCF/USF/Memphis/ECU would be better gets than Pitt TBH.

Washington
Oregon

May get the call first then the AZ schools.

USC is the top target but as mentioned..

State of California is killing their lure.

Strange post coming from an SEC poster. The Big 12 plays a 9 game conference schedule which means a 16 team Big 12 will play its conference members as much if not more than the 14 member SEC.

I’d like it.

It’d be fun.

Zero chance it happens.

But it’s fun to talk about.
Anything is possible. 15 years ago I doubt anyone thought WVU would be playing in the Big 12.

And if so what other school would they want in order to make it an even number as in two.

Academically it's a fantastic school. Although I've never seen it ranked above MIT, Stanford, U of Chicago, etc. as your ranking above insinuates. Also, those high academic schools aren't "go-to" for high prospect athletes. Not saying they don't get great athletes, just USC looks better to a kid with low ACTs.

There is a big whatabout here though. They just lost their HC, and it is yet to be seen how Lake does. They could very well be down for the next 6-8 years.

That being said, I'd say if the BIG12 was looking, they'd look to Cali. BIG may be a better conference for UDUB. IMHO

Stanford and MIT are private schools. There's separate rankings on that pic for private and public.

Which is a ridiculously small amount. I'm for the SEC playing 9 conference games and so is the coach and AD of my team. I know in your head you think everyone in the SEC is against it and gives us some humongous advantage but you're wrong. I would love for Auburn to play, Missouri, KY, TN, Vandy and SC more often. I see no downside.

Nobody plays less regular season P5 games on average than the SEC.
