Might change tune if team was ever in one but easily opening day. SB is a little depressing in the sense when it ends football is over for close to 5-6 months.

Hard to say, I voted for the Super Bowl because it’s the biggest sporting event of the year and it determines who wins it all which is what every team dreams of, but Opening Week is awesome in that every team is playing and you don’t know what the new season will bring. And yeah once the Super Bowl is over I’m always a little depressed given that it means i have to wait til September for more football

If it's teams I don't care about and that's almost every year....i start watching it and by the second quarter pretty much lost interest. Opening week...we wait from the day of the draft till opening week. Enduring dumb basketball and boring baseball. 5 months.

I’m a die hard NFL fan so I’m interested in each team and always enjoy the Super Bowl no matter who’s playing in it. But yeah Opening Week is exciting because everyone is playing and you don’t know what is to come.
I enjoy MLB and college basketball but football is far and away my favorite sport

Opening Day. It's like Spring. NFL fans are giddy that it's back. I love the Superbowl but it's like a late Fall day and you know that winter hits on the morrow. However, if the Broncos are in the Super Bowl, it surpasses opening day by 20,000%

My thoughts exactly. But it also depends on how your team is. Going into the season in Washington was not very exciting, this September will be the first time in decades where I'm actually excited about opening day.

But as you said the Super Bowl is the most exciting day of the year for me, but the letdown on Monday sucks.

Super Bowl
It’s just better football.
Opening day is almost as meaningless as the preseason ‘scrimmages’.

The Superbowl is bigger for the NFL.
Opening day is bigger for NFL fans!
Pretty much this. I think most fans look at opening day in the NFL like baseball's opening day. Every team is tied for 1st place and who knows what will happen, even when most of know what really WILL happen thruout the season. And of course the Super bowl is the single most hyped sporting event there is.

I've gotten to the point where I find the Super Bowl to be boring. Maybe it's all the hype and all the nonsense that makes it seem to drag on forever but I actually enjoy the play-off games and the conference championships far more than any SB I've watched in a very long time. I know opening week has a lot of duds and most teams play some really shitty ball but I still like it more then the SB.

Opening day EASILY. Every team is tied for first place on opening day/weekend (whatever), it's exciting if you follow the draft, free agency, TC, OTAs, etc. like I do. Brings a lot of surprises and upsets, everyone is speculating... you got 20+ more weeks of football, etc.

The Super Bowl is prob. not too far from the Pro Bowl from my perspective these days. Jesus the game is barely about football anymore. Now it's all about celebs, and the dumbass halftime show, and lame ass commercials, and talking about how much it costs, and showing constant celebs/athletes from other sports on the TV...

It's more about the spectacle and celebs and money than it is the actual game of football. I understand if your team is playing in it or you make a bet, but otherwise if all you're looking forward to all year is the Super Bowl, you're not a real football fan.

If your team is not in it, the Superbowl is for women and potato chips.....
