I'm okay with it happening either way. I just fear getting another population of Red Sox fans.

They are so deplorable.

Oh I get it. I was at the 2004 WS. Had tickets to game 1 at Yankee stadium when the Yanks were up 3-0 on Boston. Thought it was gonna be STL NYC. Shit happens.

Those fans were down for a long long time. They are gonna erupt.

Good shit. I can see you're above a lot of the other people I have trolled. You gave me positive ratings. Hell I will give someone one if they get a really good zinger on me..but the majority of trolls on here will neg every single one of my posts.

At the end of the day I can't really blame them though.

I havent given a negative rating in a long, long time. In fact, I'll give a "funny" (positive) rating to a post if I laugh at it, which is really isn't a positive.

Definitely not because I have handed out a few as sarcasm.

I think these Cubs are immune to that shit. Maybe it has something to do with the whole millennial culture people hate. I just get the feeling they fly higher than the bad juju and continue their dominance.

And it's not because @SlinkyRedfoot and I have gone at it. I would absolutely LOVE if the Cubs were up in the 9th inning of game 7 and lost it. That would be fucking hilarious.

Meh. The Cubs are a better team, but that doesn't mean the Indians can't win. The Red Sox and Blue Jays were better teams in 2016 than the Indians, and that's not based solely on record -- the Rangers had the best AL regular season record in the AL and I think a reasonable case could be made that they were the worst AL team in the playoffs -- yet the Indians beat them.

I'll say this, if the Indians have to lose, I hope it's an exciting series. I've already gotten more from this team than I thought I would.

I don't even see it as sarcasm. I'm laughing at a post. It's funny. It might not be positive, but it's funny.

Not unlike the OP, a post can be funny yet not good, like a team can be the champ, yet not the best.

It's all perspective, and I'm inclined to provide it.

I work out of Missouri. A Cardinals fan pulling for a Cubs championship is not unlike a three dollar bill.

Long story man. Was a big Cards fan. Still pull for the team but not a fan of the owner. Family is close to matheny and his family. and I've played a lot of golf with Pujols.

More than anything I would like to finally put a Cubs banner on my grandfathers grave.

He ever tell you why he quit juicing once he landed in Anaheim? Seems like he'd owe it to that team to keep rolling.

Look at Papi. Buy the good stuff, follow instructions, and no one's gonna be the wiser.

Hey, @Omar 382. Nice thread. For reals. Relatively decent discussion.

You had anybody read my sentence to you yet?

I can dig that.

I remember as a kid watching Cubs games on wgn growing up in IL. Shit I remember when wrigley didn't have lights for night games. Every game was a day game and Harry Carey Steve stone were drunk.. '84 Cubs and Andre Dawson. I was 8

2 things my grandpa loved. The Cubs and the nature boy Rick flair

I grew up watching the Cubs and pro wrestling. Moved to STL in '86. The Birds slowly turned me. Vince Coleman Willie McGee - now that was an ugly mofo

Proving your self over seven games is enough. I'm VERY comfortable with that.

We don't care if a team leads after eight innings. We still call the other team the game winner if they score enough in the last inning.

If the Cubs win 10 more games than the Indians in the regular season (with mostly different competition, btw), then the Indians beat the Cubs DIRECTLY over seven games... the Indians ARE the better team. I'm very comfortable with that.

Saying otherwise is ludicrous imo.

Nah he wasn't juicin. The guy doesn't drink alcohol much less put that in his body. Good dude. He's lost out there. Hollywood isn't his style. I wish the Rangers would trade for him. I think he was hurt by the Cards. Some shit happened that wasn't cool. They made him out to be the villain after putting that team on his back for 10 years. Cards should have handled it like the colts did with Manning.

Injuries have taken a toll too. But the guy needs help in that lineup. Look who's been hitting behind him since he's been there. Pride is also an issue. He's trying to hit HRs all the time. He used to hit .335 and go to opposite field. He tries to pull everything now.

Seriously then, why would you suppose the sport of baseball needs 162 games to raise the cream when the other sports require at most half that?

All due respect, Mike Trout seems like he could be pretty good protection, no?
