"I don't know if Nebraska respected the Huskies at the end of that ball game Saturday, and that's not okay,'' Sarkisian said, then repeating a little later that "I don't know if they respected us at the end of that game so its been addressed and it won't happen again.''

I'm trying to understand if he means the fans and team truly just disrespected Washington (I really have a hard time believing it could be that bad)

Or instead if he meant that Nebraska completely embarrassed Washington to the point where they couldn't possibly have any respect for them in the end.

AHHHHH!! Yeah... you're right..... Basically, he was saying that prior to the game, Nebraska obviously respected Washington and prepared for the game really well... HOWEVER... After the game, we beat them so bad and essentially over-estimated their playing ability from the beginning and concluded that they weren't really as good as we thought they were. What he means by "It won't happen again" is pretty much saying that for the rest of the season, he'll make sure that the team will play at such a level that teams will respect them as a credible football team from start to finish.

I hope that made sense.

It does make sense but was he taking a shot at Nebraska?

No... not at all.... He was taking a shot at his team and coaching staff more than anything else. Basically saying that his team played under par and deserved to not be respected. If their Defense stopped our run and Jake Locker stepped up and scored some touchdowns, the game would've been closer. In close games, both teams walk away respecting the other, no matter who won. In a blowout... the loser never gets any respect.

EDIT: The loser gets the fat girl.
