Anyone ever play Subnautica? Read great things. Debating whether to try it.

Played both Subnautica, and Subnautica Below Zero. Great games if you enjoy exploration plus you are in the dark depths of the ocean so there are plenty of scary creatures that will come at you. Makes for some scary episodes.

Also the base building aspect is done well. Very entertaining.

Very useful, thank you. Is the game always in first person shooter view or are you able to toggle in and out where you can see more of your guy (similar to how Skyrim works)?

I do not think there is a third person POV in this game. I know the character model exists as you can see yourself when using a drone but I have never seen a toggle to switch POV.

This is the only thing holding me back. I’m typically terrible at first person shooters games - just can’t get the hang of it. I need to see my full character or I get lost easily trying to navigate. Big flaw in my gaming skills. I can’t play Skyrim at all in first person view and almost gave up on it immediately during the opening scene until I figured out the toggle option.

I get that... one thing is the dark ocean can be very disconcerting and it can be a challenge to even know where you are at times. One thing they do to help you out is you can always see where your base is, and you can craft beacons that you can then place anywhere with a note as to that location. I use these extensively since I get disoriented easily. You can even see thru terrain to get a fix on a beacon.

To be honest once you place a beacon you can then just swim around and not worry about your location since you can just scan around in a circle and locate any beacon in just a few seconds.

That sounds like my experience with almost every Souls game. I think I've quit all of them somewhere between halfway and 3/4 of the way to the end even though I complete almost everything else.

From what I hear those are known for being super hard. Some games give me issues, some don't. God Of War was supposed to be difficult but I beat that on hard no problem. "Control" frustrates me.

Currently playing Witcher 3 and loving it. If Borderlands 3 is available somewhere other than Epic starting April 13th it will become the game I am playing most.

Currently starting up Uncharted 4.

Naughty Dog has really tightened up its writing and story structure. Everything in the game revolves around its writing and characters and the action works as set pieces. Its very well done and I kinda wasn't expecting to like the game as much as I do. They set up the main thrust of the plot in an interesting way that feels earned. The climbing sequences kinda feel like padding but the rope swinging adds just enough to keep me interested. The nods to nostalgia are well done. I'm enjoying it so far even though the gameplay definitely takes a back seat.

I’m about 80% of the way through Call of Cthulhu. It’s mostly a game about discovering things but so far I think it is a good balance between investigation and story.

I found it enjoyable. Very similar play to Fallout New Vegas. Both made by Obsidian.

If you can only play one Assassin's Creed game, play the Odyssey version. Thanks to the last sony store sale, I got all the dlc, game and other games for 25.00, best 25.00 I spent.
