Playing Balatro. Its great.

I'm really glad people are modding the Oblivion Remaster. The game is supposed to be green! Now we have the remaster and a good filter and its better. Apparently you level up much faster in the Remaster which is a genuinely terrible thing if it works like I think it does. Mods for that already. I might wait a couple of months and dive back in. I could never get into Skyrim but I loved Oblivion back in the day

Been playing the shit out of Expedition 33. Love the art style, writing and gameplay. One of the best JRPGs I have ever played better than any Final Fantasy. This is an evolution in JRPGs.

Tbh, Final Fantasy really hasn't been a JRPG since FFX. FF11 and 14 are MMO. FF12 is sort of an RTS game with programming. FF15 and FF16 are Action RPGs.

FF13 and the 7 Remakes are the only ones I'd probably call JRPGs tbh and even then they're hybrids.

Expedition 33 looks like a better Lost Odyssey for modern times....which sounds awesome. I think turn based JRPGs are in a weird spot where there is a hungry and vocal crowd for it but that crowd isnt super large. I think a lot of people who like turn based combat want a CRPG or tactics game instead and a lot of people want an action game. E33 seems like a once in a decade kind of game.

Playing I've never really been a parrying guy but it turned me into one. The game also has that sense of accomplishment, like you're doing something. I probably would have never played this game if it wasn't on gamepass. Gamepass is the best value in gaming.

Yeah, I'm not a parrying guy. The Stick of Truth is probably the only 'parry' RPG I've played and I don't think parrying added anything. That said, Stick of Truth was excellent at everything but the combat progression and it seems like thats the thing that E33 got right that a lot of these turn based games haven't.

Every couple of years Gamepass goes from a good deal to by far the best thing in gaming. To me it seems very clear that PC > Sony > Nintendo for overall gaming.
