See Auburn. Not only that, they are proving you can be in the middle of nowhere and build an empire!

That's just within the actual city limits dumbass. The I-85 corridor from pretty much Spartanburg to Anderson is one big urban metro area made up of multiple cities, towns, and unincorporated areas.
I was actually down in Greenville for a few days back in November. It's not bad at all. The downtown area has some cool stuff to attract college kids. Are Clemson players really driving 40 minutes to go hang out somewhere though? That's just within the actual city limits dumbass. With less than a tenth of the population of Columbus, I’d agree, but I wasn’t comparing cities, I was just laughing at the idea of a town of 70k being considered “city life.”
“We’ve even got a dozen cabs! Usta be fifteen until Jethro started driving his Uber mobile.”
Aren't you close to Akron? I hear it's-a-boomin!I like the Carolinas. Some really nice places. I just laugh at 70k being “city life.” I don’t even like city life, which is why I don’t live in it, but 70k is not it.

It's 52 degree there today, they're not practicingOf course You have never been , Look close and you can see the water ski / wake board Teams practicing Year round .

But in an hour you can be in the Smokey Mountains View attachment 194805
Not at all. Still loved living up there. The fiancee and I are planning a return to NE Ohio in a couple years, maybe Jackson Township area. Pretty pumped.Yep. Kind of between Akron and Cleveland. I don’t consider Akron “city life.”

You said Greenville is about 30 min away for the kids who want “city life.”
So driving up and down the I-85 corridor, stopping at a bunch of small towns is your idea of “city life,” which is why I’m laughing at you, hayseed.
What the fuck ever dude. I'd rather be a hayseed from South Carolina than anything from Ohio.
And judging by the number of people who move here every year from your shithole state there's plenty of people from there that agree.
Sure, but the styling is all wrong. This thread has potential!
Clemson was formed because SC decided to educate black folks. Ben Tillman was having none of that so he built Clemson. The rest is history. Hell, Frank Howard famously stated no black person would ever play for Clemson. He used the N word though.Strange....the article you linked named all kinds of graduates of South Carolina College, including the ringleader General Martin Witherspoon Gary and the also indicted Matthew Butler.
Clemson was founded where it was because of the will of Thomas Green Clemson. When he died childless he left the Fort Hill plantation to the state to establish an A&M college because of the fact that South Carolina College had neglected it's duty to educate the entire state, instead concentrating on being the school for the Charleston and Columbia elites.
