Too bad he insists in being considered a quarterback. He'd have a better chance with a more hybrid position. Not that I think the Lions would be able to use him, but some coach (Chip Kelly maybe?) might be forward thinking enough to pull it off

Agreed. If he'd be willing to move to h-back he'd have no problem landing on a roster.

I think Tebow would be a great H-Back / Holder for kicks / upback for punts / 4th team QB. Tebow could have a solid NFL career if he was willing to embrace a change.

I have always thought the Lions should get that type of guy.

The Jets are a train wreck right now. They should have let Ryan go when they dumped the GM.

I wouldnt even mind giving him some plays at TE. Lord knows the guy we drafted is probably not going to be more than a blocker.

Williams was definitely drafted to be an in-line blocking TE, but that's because we have two talented pass-catching TEs ahead of him, so he won't need to be a big pass-catcher.

Tebow, in an h-back role, would be a good pass catching option imo... not really a whole lot of difference between an h-back and a TE. It's just a matter of semantics- some teams use a TE in the backfield at times (James Casey, Delanie Wlaker), thus making them an h-back. I think Tebow is a better running option than a lot of h-backs are, but his success at the position would depend on both his pass-catching/route running skills and his run blocking ability.

He's a great athlete with the size for the position, but the question is whether or not he'd accept not playing QB any longer...

I can't see teams lining up for Tebow as a QB.

I could see New England bringing him in as a understudy and promptly moving him. It comes down to what type of career do you want?

His mechanics have been broke since college and he is unable to change the way he throws. He drops the ball down to his waist like he is winding up and thats a huge problem.

I give him credit for what he has done so far with limited ability as a QB but I would like to see him change his position if for no other reason but to watch ESPN work itself into a lather over the guy. It's like gay **** for the 4 letter network.

They sure do love them some Tebow... I'd like him a lot better if we weren't force-fed him 24/7...

I am not a tebow fan, but I'd support him competing for a spot and getting any spot as long as he earns it. Forget his past, and whatever else, just simply is he better than X QB on our roster. And if the answer is yes, then so be it.

I think tebow would fit nicely as an H-back type player on the lions. If he can catch. With our offense, he would be one more weapon....but i agree, he would have to compete for his job and beat out others. Plus....just think of the plubicity the lions would get....as much as i hate first take, imagine how much they would talk about the lions.

It would be nice having non stop 24 hour coverage of the Lions if he signed. I might even have to go back to watching the 4 letter network if they wanted to talk about something other then Kobe or Lebron.

I like Tebow...the guy just wins. And I think thats what it is about and the Lions could use a locker room influence. Just not as a starting QB. His mechanics were screwed up since day 1.

Tim Tebow, Titus Young, Vince Young.

Think anybody will sign any of these guys?
