That's like taking what Rod Brind'Amour has done...but doubling it :D
its still a losing strategy but Deboer needed to take the Canes shots-shots-and-more-shots philosophy last night ... an elimination game and the Stars muster 0 shots in the final 16 minutes of the 3rd period ???

I feel like they threw away game 4 also by trying to pass around until they found the perfect shot. They kept getting run into the corners or down low so when the puck finally got shot and missed it rimmed all the way to neutral ice.

Made it super easy on the Oilers D. No one even got close to the slot.

fuck the Moj just said on Halbro that Moxies had a promotion that if you walked in wearing a Dallas Stars jersey during last series you got a free steak ?!?!?!?

Gaglardi should keep this promo going 1 extra day as a "sorry" for letting the Coilers advance !

Who knows if this is true but either him or DeBoer need to go. I don't see that relationship being mended anytime soon

I think this guy is the producer for Steve Dangle (Leafs podcaster and mega (not maga) fanboy). I don't think he has any insider sources so he might just be stirring the pot.

yah this was just a gag post right minutes after Otter got pulled ... but the point stands that there has to be some friction here and the goalie is locked in with term on his contract

I don't think it would have made a lick of difference in the game last night, but I didn't like the early pull on Otter. Perry was left all alone in front on the net, that was a coffee table book entry. A very sloppy line change led directly to the second goal with Janmark in all alone. Sure, maybe Otter could have made a save, but hardly his fault on either of those goals.

yeah I agree. but even leaving him in would not have changed that outcome. Oilers are destined this year.

Realistically, how long before Pete is fired?

Does it happen today?
I don’t see Nill pulling that lever unless the Owner directs him to. He has one year left on his deal. But I do believe he’s on a short leash going into next season.

Regardless, it appears to be an untenable situation in Dallas. Somebody needs a change of scenery and the smart money is on Pete.
Feels like teams rarely find their savio(u)r goalie in the trade market. Successful teams draft them and develop them (Otter, Igor, Vasy, Helle, MAF with the Pens,) or grab them in free agency after they get priced out (Bob, Frederik Andersen). Easy choice between Pete and Jake if it gets forced.

When you get a bad situation, some other team can scoop up someone good who demands out (Thompson, Ullmark). the line for Otter would be sooooo long.

The Oilers are following the same path as the 07–08 Penguins. Lost to Detroit in the cup final after firing their coach. And beat them in the rematch in 08-09.

Otter for Demko
Canucks would then be on the hook for 12.75 shmill payable to goalies until at least 2029-30 when Lankinens contract expires - unless they trade him too ... but he has a 15 team NTC that runs until the start of the 2029 season
