Walton & Bird and add McAdoo to the Jabbar/Magic pairing.

I think Harden is currently in the lead.

Curry is the best player on one of the best Teams.

But, he's playing with a ton of talent.

I hate Harden.

But, the fact that he has his Team in 3rd place, in the BRUTAL Western Conference, with Howard missing 25 games and counting is impressive.

Lebron is always in the conversation.

But, I think either Harden or Curry will win it.

Westbrook is great. But, he has missed a ton of games and comes off as slightly unlikable in the media.

* towards them ala Marshawn Lynch *

They call it a MVP race. But, we all know it's a popularity contest for a top guy on a top Team.

That excludes Russell...imo

Damn...another tripe-double and we are barely into the 4th quarter.

Question: Who's going to the bench when Adams is healthy?

Kanter and Westbrook play well together.

Ya another triple double for Westbrook in the 3rd qtr. Guy is playing out of his mind.

Thats the question thought does Kanter or Adams start? I can't see them playing together although Kanter could play forward if needed. It's a good problem to have.

Looks like he might miss some more time.

Damn....

Thunder guard Russell Westbrook underwent medical tests before leaving the arena following Friday's game at Portland after taking a knee to the side of the face. The team did not make Westbrook available to the media after the game, and it's unclear what type of injury he sustained or what he was being evaluated for. A further update is expected to be provided by the team in the coming days. "I don't know," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said when questioned about Westbrook's status. "We'll find out more later."

Westbrook was seen being escorted to an evaluation room roughly 30 minutes after the game ended. Internet pictures showed a dent in the side of Westbrook's face, right around his right cheek bone. The Thunder will have an off day Saturday before ending this three-game road trip Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Westbrook didn’t speak with reporters postgame because the team said he was being evaluated. Or maybe he can’t open his mouth to talk. Thunder officials say an update will be given tomorrow. This is not good news. DailyThunder.com

I already aller this a long time ago but I said Houston would be a better without Howard. And also said with Howard down it would be a blessing in disguise. With that said MVP only goes to 1-2 seeds

Lakers fans have been saying this for 2 years. Of course, we were just "bitter haters" though.

Only two players appear in the top 5 in three of the 6 most common measurable statistics:
Russell Westbrook (Points 2nd, Assists 5th, Steals 2nd)
Deandre Jordan (FG% 1st , Rebounds 1st, Blocks 3rd)

I am not stating that Durant will leave the Thunder. However - I could think of several reasons why he would leave to include 1. going home 2. playing with more of a pass-first PG & 3. having a greater possibility of reaching the Finals by being in the East.

Exactly.

Just seeing where the league rescinded his last technical so that he avoids a suspension. Don't really care whether he is suspended or not, but why have the rules if you are just going to change them when it suits you. These leagues look like jokes with their penalty enforcements.

One area (of many) where the NBA loses me compared to the college game is the amount of stars that feel they can argue with the officials. When they don't like a call they run to the official and begin to cry, beg, and plea. In college whenever there is a call it gets handled between either the coach and the player, or the coach and the official. Westbrook is about the worst in that regard.

Westbrook clearly wanted to win the scoring title which is why he jacked up 43 shots against Indiana. Since 1985 there have only been 11 times a player shot that many times in an NBA game just to give you an idea of how many shots that is. If he had more self control in closing out some of the games they lost this year they would have made the playoffs easily but his play in the closing minutes of quite a few games was really bad and he shot them out of a bunch of games. He needs to improve his shot selection (shot 42% this year) and cut down on turnovers (4.4 per game) dramatically next season with KD back if they're going to win a championship.
