hes the man.

I think he is one of the very very best in the entire league.

and he might be boths the leagues best athlete and most fierce competitor. He is so much fun to watch play the game of basketball. If I was Durant I could not imagine leaving a player like this. (unless John Wall keeps getting better AND RW gets serious injury issues)

Russell Westbrook is becoming what Derrick Rose could've been.

I am not stating that Durant will leave the Thunder. However - I could think of several reasons why he would leave to include 1. going home 2. playing with more of a pass-first PG & 3. having a greater possibility of reaching the Finals by being in the East.

I love Westbrook, usually keeps the ball out of Durant's hands enough to lose in the playoffs.

I don't think rose ever had Westbrook's athletism
Really? They had nearly identical athleticism before Rose got hurt. Don't you remember him dunking over big men early in his career? He was much quicker than Westbrook, and had he stayed healthy I think he could've gotten even more athletic as Westbrook has. Rose is a shell of his former self right now.

I'm starting to hear the Russell Westbrook for MVP rumors. Why not? It used to be Batman and Robin in Okc but now it's Batman and Batman.

He definitely deserves to be in the conversation. Kid's a stud.

I remember him pre-injury pretty well but I don't think he could do half the stuff russ does now

The way the NBA voters vote on MVP, he doesn't stand a chance unless they get a top 4 seed.

The MVP will go to Curry (likely once GSW stay #1), Harden, or Lebron

Durant won it last year, has 2 different players from the same team ever won MVP in back to back years? Celtics or Lakers?

Cousey and Russell in 57-58. That was the 2nd and 3rd year of instituting the MVP award.

That was an entirely different league, though. Much more likely to pull that off when there are only 8 teams anyway. Doing that in a 30-team league would be crazy.

I'm really hoping it goes to Steph, but I wouldn't be too upset to see Westbrook take it home. Lot of bball to be played but it should be interesting to watch the race play out.

I'm trying to think of NBA MVP winners who were teammates (at or after the time of winning MVP)

Shaq and Malone
Magic and Kareem
Duncan and Robinson
Dr J and Moses Malone
Russell and Cousy
