Your first place Rangers head north to face the M's. Gray and Heaney go today and tomorrow at 8:30; both could use bounceback starts. Wednesday is a getaway game at 2:30. This is deGrom's spot but the starter isn't listed on the Rangers' website as of yet. The Rangers are +6 vs 2022.

This series will be a bigger challenge. Although Rangers beat up on Angel pitching, they did miss their No 1 and 2 in Ohtani and Sandoval.

Think we take two of three. Mariners have a very pedestrian offense and I think our guys can generate enough runs to succeed. I'm hopeful that Gray has a nice bounce back start and Dunning has a really good to dominant game filling in for deGrom.

MLB Power Rankings: Putting Cardinals' putrid start in historic context; Red Sox, Orioles surge

Rangers
Adolis García is the MLB leader in RBI with 36. Can I offer up a quick digression? When I say the pace of something, I'm not saying there's even a remote chance that it'll happen. I'm just putting context behind it. I always feel like saying a player is on a full-season pace for something gives a better perspective to how he's been playing than just a raw number. Anyway, García is on pace for 177 RBI. For those curious, the only Rangers players ever to go for 130 RBI are Juan Gonzalez, Rafael Palmeiro, Mark Teixeira, A-Rod and Josh Hamilton. 5 20-13

One day next week the season will be a quarter over with. Unless we fall completely apart between now and then we should have a really good first quarter of the season.

Then consider the things that could even be better the rest of the way.

We should get more at bats from Seager in each of the other three quarters.

We very well could get more innings from deGrom in at least 2 of those quarters.

If Nathaniel Lowe get settled in about the same time he did last year we could see significantly more production from him.

Duran sat the bench for a lot of this first quarter. If the opposition pitching doesn't catch up to him we could get more from him the rest of the way than we did this first quarter.

During the last two quarters of the season I think the bullpen will be much better than it has been so far.

You would think Jung would improve to some extent as he gets more experience.

Now some things are going to decline. Jank has played well over his head so most likely we will get less from him.

Heim had a terrible last couple of months last year, so we could get significantly less from him later on. Although, we do have Huff in the wings which could mitigate this factor.

Overall, the rest of this season looks bright. I didn't even mention the possibility of hitters like Foscue and Crim, or even Carter contributing down the line. Also, Bradford or White could help out later on.

The pitching matchups are not in our favor this series. I wouldn’t be too disappointed if we go 1-2. Seattle really took it to us last year. Seemed like we couldn’t get that Suarez guy out and he got tons of clutch hits at our expense. Hoping to see a quiet series from Suarez.

we can mitigate the pitching advantage some by playing in Seattle. Sometimes pitchers with a 5.00 era pitch like they have a 3.00 era due to combination of the Seattle line up and atmosphere.

It's a tough matchup, for sure. But the way our lineup has been hitting lately, Texas has a real shot to take the series.
Not to mention Seattle's own mediocre offense does them few favors.

I think it is time to put to bed the old Ranger offense. We are a better team and should play better and have against the good teams

Now we obviously have a very shaky pen and could blow one but in time I am hopeful it will be remedied

It’s looks good. I just don’t like Grossman in the outfield. He hasn’t been good defensively.
Better LF than right and guess it gets Heim in the lineup. Hope we get a lead and can replace Robbie defensively

Have a feeling the tide is turning against the Halos. It is a war of attrition and depth is needed
All teams need MILB depth

What would you guys think if the rangers brought back odor on a minimum contract, stick him in 9th, and told him to swing for the fences?
