You just don't stop making stuff up. It's been discussed ad nauseum how the o-line was ranked #2 (?) in pass protection.

By saying the rankings flip flop swapping Gabbert and Dalton, you're giving Dalton all the credit for our "success". You are a disgusting Dalton homer.

Once again, I will argue that because Dalton got rid of the ball in 2.4 seconds per play "on average" that it helped the olines pass protection rating. When your QB is the fastest to get rid of the ball, those numbers for the oline get inflated a bit.He probably got rid of the ball on average faster when he saw the blitz coming trying to hit his HOT.

I am not a disgusting Dalton homer, but if you are going to be so grossly left winged on this subject, I kinda have to take up occupancy on the right. If you could stop being such a disgusting Dalton basher, I can live in the grey with you, but you do not.

If you come to the middle with me, we can discuss his "limitations" and his future in this league as his talents permit. But be prepared, it is still as a Bengals starter, not a backup for some other team.

Are cincygrad and bengaldoug the eternal pessimistic type? Gotta love those types! How do you guys not feel good about your chances this year? If Marvin fails this year then I wouldn't expect to see him around much longer. The Bungals have everything in place (questionable!). Make or break year IMO!

Homer at heart, but a longtime fan who because of our history has a pessimistic nature. I'm not sure a Lombardi trophy would change that. I've just been let down so many times it's hard to continue leading with my heart.

You still do not have the slightest understanding of how these rankings are determined. A significant portion is based on a preset time of how long the QB has the ball. These guys that watch every single play of every single game to come up with these rankings don't sit there and go, 'hey, the QB got rid of the ball in 1.5 seconds and he didn't face any pressure in that time, so the o-line must be AWESOME!' They aren't idiots that they wouldn't account for how long a QB has the ball in his hands.

Well then, since you are so versused in the nature of "these stat guys", why don't you give me a complete run down on what they do cover, how the stats are accumulated and what they base them off of. If you can do that, I will maybe buy into your theory on the OL.

Because when I watched the OL last year, C was a turnstyle, Whitworth was slow and was constantly getting beat from the outside on pass rushes, and Boiling had some issues, a few more than the rookie playing at RG. I was able to see with my own eyes the amount of pressure Dalton was under last year and to just blindly take some stat heads stat as Gospel, well, I need a bit more education on how they determined their stats.

I figured since you are their biggest proponent, you can be the one to fill me in on this stat and how it is determined, cool beans?

I gave you the common sense version of how they would factor in how long the QB has the ball in his hands.

If that doesn't work for you, you can always do some research and read up on their stats. And if that doesn't work, email them.

Or I can just choose not to believe your stupid ass. How's that sound? This is your arguement, not mine. The burden of proof is on you.

I think it's funny that we all run around talking about PFF stats, but none of us actually know anything about them given that we're too cheap to sign up. Maybe that's why Marvin thinks we're dumb.

I have them. They're not expensive. I plan on using them this year to help me make wagers.

When it comes to visual illustration, grad, you are the man!!

Problem is, Marvin Lewis doesn't get half as many challenges weong as we lose. Someone upstairs calls him and goes, Marvin, you need to challange that crucial play. So since this douche upstairs calls Marvin with a video replay of the play, he figures this guy must know what he is talking about. Unfortunately, that guy is wrong a whole lot. Marvin rarely rushes to throw out the red flag, he is usually throwing it out late waiting for confirmation from upstairs.

Marvin does need to learn better clock management though, as I hate watching the time outs called so early in a half and us having nothing at the end, because Marvin doesn't know how to manage a clock without a full wad of time outs at his disposal.

Actually, there are plenty of in-depth write ups about their stats online.

But Crash doesn't pay me. I'm not going to do his homework for him.

You have to spend money to make money.

I think this season we may need a new "Doug's lock of the week" thread.

Has nothing to do with me. My homework is watching the games and seeing with my own eyes how things are going. Things were not always going so good for that offensive line last year pass protecting. You want to prove me wrong, do "your" homework, and bring it! But since you are a lazy ass, it is expected that would be your out.

Are you listening to yourself?

So what Crash sees is what is right. If anyone disagrees, the burden of proof is on them to prove Crash wrong.

Take the blinders off and use a little common sense for once.

You mean like when you called me out as full of shit regarding Dalton's release and how he was doing it in 2.4 seconds.

Basically, I made a statement, you called me on it...it was my burden to prove to you I was right. I came up with the proof you needed, from a source you were supposedly using that debunked your case altogether.

In this case, you are saying the Bengals offensive line is ranked 2 in pass blocking. I require more proof than a straight up statement pointing to a source that you do not even know how they measure the stat.

The burden to prove your statement is on you, not me, you fruit.

So unless you can prove without a shadow of a doubt that Dalton's quick release does not play a factor in "YOUR" stat for the OL, you lose this argument, that is all there is to it.
