Looks like his agent leaked this story to Adam Schefter. It's not going over well in Philly. I think this guy may have started his last game in green.

Well, they need to find a trade partner first because they aren't releasing him.

1 interesting destination.....Indianapolis.

Rivers may be retiring and Reich was the OC in Philly when Wentz had his best season. Think if Indy offered a 3rd or 4th rounder.....Philly would have to jump at that.

This report (which seems to be from the Wentz camp) claims teams have expressed interest already, but doesn't name any. I could see the Colts being interested as discussed previously. Wentz had a good rapport with Frank Reich when Reich was the OC and frankly hasn't been as good since Reich left Philly to become head coach of the Colts.

And your boys get some cap relief to fix other areas and maybe get a vet QB to backup Hurts.

A 3rd rounder or 4th rounder wouldn't be out of the question either since Wentz is under 30 and still capable of bouncing back in the right place.

I am not sure if Hurts is really the guy either, but I like how Hurts carries himself. For a rookie he is impressive in terms of leadership. Let's see how he does the rest of the season. If he continues to show up like he did against New Orleans, I don't think Philly will have any choice but to move on from Wentz.

The should tell the mfr if he wants out so bad to restructure his contract then.

Yeah, this actually makes me wonder if he would do that. If he wants out enough, maybe he will agree to a restructured deal that makes it easier to trade him?

Hurts is 1-2 reads and run, man. Not a long-term solution. But right now, their OL is so bad a dual-threat is a good option.

Yeah, that is what everyone was saying after the game, that you could see he had a few simple reads every play and if they weren't there he took off. Whatever. He immediately looked better than Wentz with the same surrounding cast against one of the best defenses in the NFL. He avoided turnovers until the very end and seemed to manage the game well. Can he keep it up? No idea.

This.

Regardless what you think about his long term future, he is an improvement over Wentz and they are in a very winnable NFC East.

There are cap hits from trading him but they are not as severe as from cutting him. He is tradeable...if someone is actually willing. And because his contract was front-loaded the amount of cap hit for the team would not be huge. It would be similar to Teddy Bridgewater's contract apparently. So, someone may well think it worth the risk, despite how poorly he has played in 2020.

they save 25 mil by trading before 6/1 but still have 33 mil on the cap but after it gets even uglier

all u need is a team willing to spend 47 mil on a maybe

However, the acquiring team would really only be making a two-year commitment worth $47,400,000, or $23,700,000 per year. To explain:

• In 2021, assuming a deal gets done by March 19, his fully guaranteed salary would be $25,400,000, which is really $15,400,000 in salary, and $10 million in a guaranteed roster bonus to be paid by the acquiring team. When that $10 million roster bonus is paid, Wentz's 2022 salary of $22,000,000 becomes guaranteed.

• In 2022, the new team would own Wentz' guaranteed salary of $22,000,000.

Been scouring the rosters of all the teams in the League.....can't find a better place for him to land.

With that defense, Wentz would have a margin of error if he threw a pick.....and with Taylor he has a young RB he can rely on to run the ball.....
