I'm just real leery of these coaches from the schools that play in these smaller conferences with weaker talent and have had some success. I keep thinking how excited we were when we got Bryan Harsin as an offensive coordinator. He was a hero at Boise St., but failed at Texas when he had to play good teams every week. Look at Sumlin. Great success at Houston, but in my opinion, he has failed so far at ATM. I wish we had some of his talent. It's just a different world in the Big 5. What I can't understand is how some of these schools have had some success. My only guess is that the big schools (Florida St.) just don't take them that serious and the smaller team is higher than a kite. Emotions play such a big part.

P.S. Plus from an emotional side. I just hate Houston.

I have to ask. Why Herman? Would someone explain to me why he is the best choice?

"Best" choice? I would disagree there. Best option that we have a good chance of landing? More likely. I'd still like to see other, more established choices from P5 schools discussed though.

Apple white cannot be hired supposedly. So if Herman wants to keep his team together, Texas will have to look elsewhere.
