This wasn't the original point of this thread, but I tallied up the votes, 1 point for each correct prediction, with one change.

I thought that it would be good, in order to encourage participation, for everyone who predicted the Denver game but not the rest to add some automatic points: for every game that all the participants voted unanimously and were correct, one point was given as if voted correctly.

For example, EVERYONE, predicted that the Niners would win and they did, so that was an automatic point for mem49er. You can't win the season this way, but if mem49er wanted to join in starting now, he wouldn't be so far behind (1 to 13).

In the parenthesis, I gave a separate score - a point to all those who predicted every game (regardless of correctness), 2 for the third place that week, 3 for the 2nd place, and 4 for the first each week. If FourBeeDen wins again next week, he'll have 8 points there. If you place in the top three but didn't guess all games, you still get the same points here. All the more impressive, I'd say. No penalty for guessing incorrectly besides not getting the point. Giving a prediction every week for all the games would get 17 points, a win or two after that could win it.

The prize? My moldy ham sandwich - not as good as WartyOne's but what are you going to do? And yes, I do think too much about these things and no, I don't care that I do. ;)

Standings

FourBeeDen - 13 (4)
mhsl82 - 12 (3)
TobyTyler - 11 (2)
AU_Fever - 10 (1*)
shouldakepowens - 9 (1)
ATL96Steeler - 9 (1)
Excel - 9 (1)
purguy12 - 9 (1)
Rvnight18 - 8
Jtymer49er - 6
mem49er - 6
SY8goat - 6
Kinzu - 6
Xponentialchaos - 6
NinerSickness - 6
h0ckeysk83r - 6
Dodub - 6
dreday - 5

* I think I caused AU_Fever not guessing the Denver game because I broke the template up into two posts and he didn't see the first. Didn't give him a point for that game because he didn't guess, but gave one for predicting all games.

Thursday Night Football
NY Jets at New England - Home and better team, even if the WRs are gone.

Sunday, September 15
San Francisco at Seattle - Before GB game, I had us splitting with Seattle and the road was the more loseable one, but f'it, going with a win.
St. Louis at Atlanta - Home, team who lost last week
Carolina at Buffalo - Lost last week and they are bound to win.
Minnesota at Chicago - Home game. Ponder could win, but won't. Cutler could throw INTs to lose, but won't lose.
Washington at Green Bay - Home game, bad start for Washington, GB wants to beat up the lesser team after last week's loss.
Miami at Indianapolis - Home, Luck.
Dallas at Kansas City - Home, luck. Just kidding.
Cleveland at Baltimore - Self explanatory.
Tennessee at Houston - Home, better team.
San Diego at Philadelphia - Home game, better team.
Detroit at Arizona - Just a feeling, could go either way. Detroit is inconsistent.
New Orleans at Tampa Bay - Payton/Brees over Schiano/Freeman > Road/Home
Jacksonville at Oakland - Worst team vs. Can't get any worse, so must be getting better (I know, not true logic)
Denver at NY Giants - Home game.

Monday Night Football
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati - Home game, but the Steelers might fight harder to avoid 0-2?

Biggest guesses - Denver/New York, San Francisco/Seattle, Kansas City/Dallas and Arizona/Detroit(inconsistent teams), Carolina/Buffalo, and Pittsburgh/Cincinnati.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For a clean prediction:

Thursday Night Football
NY Jets at New England

Sunday, September 15
San Francisco at Seattle
St. Louis at Atlanta
Carolina at Buffalo
Minnesota at Chicago
Washington at Green Bay
Miami at Indianapolis
Dallas at Kansas City
Cleveland at Baltimore
Tennessee at Houston
San Diego at Philadelphia
Detroit at Arizona
New Orleans at Tampa Bay
Jacksonville at Oakland
Denver at NY Giants

Monday Night Football
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati

It's not too late to predict this week's games, other than the predictable Jets-Patriots games.

Yes, I know, I'm not going to get many points this week. (Washington, in particular, I'm taking a leap of faith that there'll be some fools' gold. Houston is like last year's Atlanta team - not impressive until last minute win by kicker. No idea about the San Diego game at Tennessee - I actually think it'll be San Diego, but Tennessee is at home, so taking a jab here.)

Any more predictions before the Thursday Night game?

If there's any reason to wait for the Sunday games, you can guess tonight's game and wait until Saturday night or Sunday morning before the games to guess the rest. Partial guessing is ok, too, though you can only score by guessing and guessing incorrectly doesn't dock points, it just doesn't get points. You can guess a tie and if it happens, you get three points but guessing a tie incorrectly docks you two. :) (Arbitrary bonus points. Yes, I'm only kidding, guess away - incorrect guesses of ties will get you 0 not -2.)

It's not about winning the contest or anything, just for fun. I have given points to everyone for games that we all have guessed correctly unanimously so that everyone, if they care to try to win, are within a reasonable distance to win it.

Big Week for Road Teams, IMO. Not really sure about the Dallas-San Diego, Jets-Titans, Detroit could surprise at home or turn it over, and I am not sure of the Giants game - are they lost or motivated? While I still see it as a loss, Glennon may have his luck at home (though I've heard many people say that Arizona is underrated, just in a bad division for them to compete). Miami will be a test for the Saints.

FourBeeDen, are you abstaining from the Philadelphia at Denver game? Forgot it? Still deciding?

P.S. I should just copy yours because you've been great at predictions, but I do differ on the Pittsburgh-Minnesota game and Patriots-Falcons game.

Saw it and fixed it ...

The Steelers and Vikings game will be played in London... Vikes are there already, so they have extra time to acclimate themselves with the time zone... The Falcons are coming off a disappointing loss in Miami, they will be fired up at home against the Pats

Ahh, I reversed those. I felt that Pittsburgh would be coming off three disappointing loses and Minnesota likes to lose in the last minute - it makes them feel better about themselves, afraid of winning and bringing on higher expectations. Just kidding. Cassel might play and that could help them or hurt them. Most likely hurt - not because Cassel sucks, but offseason snaps, etc.

New England is ripe for a loss and if they did it would make their record more representative of where they are this year so far. Injuries usually cost you a game or more. Home game is big for Atlanta, as is motivation of losing. So you're probably right on this.

You're probably right on both, but will stick to my predictions unless I change my mind last minute.
