Game Thread: Week 7: Redskins @ Eagles

For Washington to win this game, they need Cousins to make right decisions. The Eagles secondary are last in the league against the pass to Cousins needs to let loose on that secondary. Eagles are first against the run though so that might be concerning. The defense also needs to get a lot of pressure on Wentz. Wentz has been sacked 16 times so far and the Redskins defense has 15 on the year. Shouldn't be too hard but those I think are the keys to winning the game. I see Cousins throwing about 35-40 times in the game.

It seems you have d-line depth and the loss of Allen is not insurmountable. But who are your starting corners going to be in this game? Is Breland going to be able to play? Norman sounds like a stretch.

In the first post it says the Redskins are averaging 120+ rushing yards a game and their leading RB has 150 yards rushing. How can that be? You guys have 6 different RBs with 120 yards rushing this season. That has to be wrong.

We've only played 5 games thus far and you're close. We have 4 players with 100+ yards and between them they have 575 yards total. CT has 175 yards, Perine has 166 yards, Kelley has 131 yards and Cuz has 103 yards. Overall we have 614 team rushing yards with breaks down to 122 or so a game. We only have 3 rushing TDs though.

Even if we beat y'all Monday technically you'll remain in fisrt at 5-2 and we'll be a half game behind at 4-2.

Thompson is also our leading pass catcher. Tied with Reed for rec with 18, has 100+ yards more than our 2nd leading WR in reception yards with 340. He's averaging almost 19 yards a catch and he and Doctson are tied for the team lead with 2 rec TDs a piece.

Bree is possible. If not, our rookie Fabian Moreau will get the start. Dunbar has been filling in for Norman.

Yeah Kerrigan is good against the Eagles, but some of that was when Lane Johnson was out. He killed our rookie Vaitai last season for example. Hopefully Lane keeps the 'roids in check this season, because when he is in there Wentz has a spectacularly good win-loss record. Line play is the main reason for the success of the Eagles this season--they are good in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

I suspect Fabien Moreau, Quinton Dunbar and Kendall Fuller all see plenty of time at CB if BB doesn't go.

One key will be whether Philly can run on the Redskins. The Eagles have run the ball well in recent weeks and have had a balanced attack. They were not balanced week one, and I think that is a reason it was so close. With the Redskins being banged up in the secondary they may play softer coverage and it may be easier to run.

Who knows if Darby plays Mon, seems unlikely.

If Cousins has 40+ attempts, the Skins are likely trying to come from behind. We need more balance vs Philly to actually have a chance. Meaning, the run game (20+ rushes) must be effective enough to create play action opportunities down field. Let's see how this plays out.

Darby is a real longshot. Frankly, the other guys are playing very well and they should bring him back slowly.

Eagles will test that running game first, but I expect both teams to throw a deep ball very early on in order to get the respective opposing defenses to play more honestly. BTW: if Cousins is throwing 40+ times in this game, that signals to me that Gruden has abandoned the run quickly and cut in half the chance of winning.
