After a much needed win at the Chargers hopefully we are now able to stack a few more together here. Tennessee is coming to town after losing 14-7 to the Bills.

I expect this to be another defensive battle but I think feel like our offense has made strides and will be better against their defense then their offense is against our defense. Stopping the run will be key for both sides.

I will try to get the rankings posted tomorrow.

Aside from the Broncos getting the win I think I’m most encouraged by the way the run defense stepped up this week. After getting gashed by the Jags they really put the lid on the Chargers ground attack. I think we need to see more of that this week against the Titans and make Mariota beat us passing.

The titans have a pretty solid defense too but our offense has moved the ball pretty effectively all year. They just need to cash in.

I think the Broncos can win this one and get some momentum going before hosting the Chiefs on a short week.

This should be a winnable game for the Broncos. They need to get back to their dominant ways at home. As others have said, some of the improvements on defense are coming from some unanticipated places. Players like Kareem Jackson, Mike Purcell, Malik Reed and Alexander Johnson are making a difference. Benching Gotsis and losing Chubb last week ended up benefiting some others. Some of these new additions seem to really understand Fangio's defensive system and it's helping the whole team.

The Broncos offense is definitely starting to catch it's groove and I've been pretty impressed with Scangarello's play calling. Their identity is starting to take shape with a strong running game and play action. Now they just need to show that they can execute for all four quarters of a game.

Our kickers are quietly having a pretty good season too.

Really looking forward to this matchup with the Titans on Sunday. Go Broncos!

Here is how each team ranks to this point in 2019:
Tennessee Titans:
Offense:
Total: Ranks 27th with 307.8 yards per game.
Rushing: Ranks 16th with 115.6 yards per game.
Passing: Ranks 28th with 192.2 yards per game.
Scoring: Ranks 23rd with 19.6 points per game.

Defense:
Total: Ranks 9th with 332.2 yards per game.
Rushing: Ranks 14th with 104.8 yards per game.
Passing: Ranks 7th with 227.4 yards per game.
Scoring: Ranks 6th with 15.2 points per game.

Turnover Margin: Ranks tied for 3rd with +6.

Denver Broncos:
Offense:
Total: Ranks 19th with 349.4 yards per game.
Rushing: Ranks 14th with 118.6 yards per game.
Passing: Ranks 19th with 230.8 yards per game.
Scoring: Ranks tied for 26th with 18.0 points per game.

Defense:
Total: Ranks 7th with 328.6 yards per game.
Rushing: Ranks 22nd with 126.4 yards per game.
Passing: Ranks 5th with 202.2 yards per game.
Scoring: Ranks 10th with 21.2 points per game.

Turnover Margin: Ranks tied for 24th with -4.

The Titans point per game is skewed a bit with the 43 points they put on the board in week 1. Our run D looks worse then it really has been due to the 269 yards given up to Jacksonville. I believe these are 2 pretty evenly matched teams with the difference being our pass offense being a bit better then theirs. The Broncos can't lose the turnover battle and the first home win of the season should be achievable. I would be surprised if either team scores more then 24 points in this game.

That titans defense is pretty good. I think the Broncos will be doing good to get 20 on the scoreboard again. I imagine 20 will be enough to win this one though.

I am calling it now. Broncos 20, Titans 16.

I agree the Titans defense is good but the Broncos Offense is coming together and has moved the ball against some of the best Ds in the league. I think the Broncos put up 24.

I hope you’re right. I agree, seems we’ve played a pretty impressive slate of defenses and don’t look now but that loss to the Raiders is actually aging gracefully given that team is a solid 3-2 now. I really don’t think this Broncos team is awful. I think they’re right there.

24 points should definitely be enough against the Titans. I’d love to see the defense keep up what they did against the Chargers too. It would be nice to see them win by 2+ scores, running away instead of holding on. But right now at 1-4 I’ll take em any way I can get em!

Alexander Johnson and Purcell have earned more playing time.

Alexander Johnson is such a big guy and has pretty good speed. I still have hope that he can be one of the ILBs going forward.

Johnson comes on last week and plays like an all pro - in run game and passing game. Purcell commands two blockers and all of a sudden - the run defense is stiff. Yeah - play them so more - please!

I heard it dropped 64 degrees in Denver in the last 24 hours. The news people were marveling at that and I thought - That's exactly Denver's weather. If you don't like it - wait around 5 minutes it will change.

In my opinion - the Broncos have brought talent forward this season very slowly (Bausby, AJ, Purcell), but I think JuWann Winfree will be a red zone force at some time in the season (might as well start now).

I was wondering about him. We need a guy to emerge as the #3 because there’s been very limited production behind Sutton and Sanders. I wonder if Winfree maybe has a role that will emerge later in the season. At some point one of these guys is going to need to step up into the #2 role. Maybe not this year (hopefully not) but it’s not that far down the road.

Broncos have some tough IR decisions to make with Lock, Riddick, Patrick, etc.

Winfree is getting some special team reps. I think the test is for him to prove his desire on STs, but this guy catches the endzone fade and the back shoulder throws with the best of them.
