I would have no problem seeing CJ get a lot of carries too. He could definitely have plenty of success. I just am little more intrigued by Hillman and Thompson right now. Honestly, all three of those guys seem like better options than a healthy Ball right now.

Wasn't long ago folks wanted to see Anderson get his shot. Now it's like he's an afterthought. Anderson's averaging about 5 yards per carry. I'd say he should go ahead of Thompson.

I hear you. I was among those who was really high on Anderson in '13 preseason. For all I know, he is the man. I am (perhaps overly) enthusiastic about Thompson, however. Looks to me as if he might be the prototypical one cut, big, fast back. Then again, what do I know? :noidea:

Haha I was just listening to some Bronco radio and they were debating whether Manning breaks the record for most touchdowns ever against the Jets (would need 6). Most likely not because my guess is only way that happens is if the Jets are actually scoring points and I just don't see that happening.

As for the debate on RB right now my combo would be Anderson and Hillman. They both have the quickest first step of any of our RB's on the roster and both that I have seen this season know how to hit the hole with authority. Thompson has been great don't get me wrong but I worry about him being a rookie and having to protect Peyton. That is one thing honestly we might not be too happy Ball isn't playing as he was perfect in the blitz pick ups yesterday. I was just down right impressed with his pass blocking.

Broncos tried out 2 RB's yesterday...Mikel Leshoure and Larod Stephens-Howling. Probably of the two I like Leshoure as the man is a wrecking ball. Only thing is we seem to already have 2 guys exactly like that in Anderson and Thompson.

Leshoure can play, no doubt. I'm still firmly in Don Juwan's corner, however!

Here are some interesting stats to chew on...the Broncos have forced a leage best 32 percent of opponents' drives to go 3-and-out (16/50). We won the game by 21 while still losing the turnover battle going -2. Usually if you can win a game by that much and still lose the turnover battle that badly it bodes well for the team moving forward. I don't see with this defense having the players that they have not getting turnovers moving forward.

I think you're right. I believe Chris Harris dropped 2 picks on Sunday. That won't happen very often.

From what I understand Thompson is dinged up a bit with a knee injury and is actually questionable whether he actually plays this weekend or not. So right now the only 2 backs we have healthy are Hillman and Anderson.

Eric Decker interviewed today about playing his old team talked about how he understood why the Broncos didn't resign him and has no ill will towards the team. Seems a bit of a 180 as earlier in the year he said he openly roots against the Broncos now.

I think he finally realized that he will have no career in NY until they find an actual QB.

I feel for the guy a bit. I mean to go from Tebow to Manning then essentially back to another Tebow has to be tough. I mean once you've tasted Filet Mignon it is hard to go back to eating gristle. Now I don't feel too bad though as he does go home every night to essentially a Super Model for a wife and is still getting paid millions of dollars whether he puts up big numbers or not. So can't feel too bad for the guy.

He could have gone to another great qb in Indy, but he chose New York. No pity from me.

To be fair I think a big part of his decision on New York over Indy was his wife and her singing career. Have to give him a bit of credit for being a bit selfless in that kind of decision because I don't think the money was all the different between the two choices so it did come down to location and I doubt many would ever pick Geno Smith over Andrew Luck.

Broncos used a look against Arizona that I just thought would be good to highlight that I honestly think moving forward could become more of our base defense as it gets the best players on the field and the best group to stop both the pass and the run...

Now I saw this on Milehighreport of them showing that we had done this but the more I looked at it the more I really hope that the Broncos use it on a regular basis.

Essentially here is the group...for the DL we have Von Miller-Sylvester Williams-Terrance Knighton-DeMarcus Ware. This group gives us a great mix of run stuffing DT's that make it hard to run up the middle while also giving us some amazing pass rush from the inside and out as well as Ware and Miller being great against the run. It makes us a little smaller with Von up on the line in possible run situations but his abilities seem to overcome his size.

At linebacker we have on the weakside-Brandon Marshall MLB-Danny Trevathan and SLB Nate Irving. This makes us again a little smaller up the middle with Trevathan rather than Irving but with the DT's we have I'm not too worried about a smaller guy especially with Trevathan's aggressive style. This also gives us probably our best 3 coverage linebackers right now all on the field at the same time but also our best run stuffing group to keep teams honest early on.

Then the secondary is the usual group of Talib, Harris, Ward, and Moore.

The more I look at this group the more I just wonder how in the world defenses would attack it. It gives us our best 11 in my opinion players on the field at the same time and is just as deadly against the run as they are against the pass. Anyway I think as Trevathan gets into shape we just might see this lineup as a pretty normal setting.
