I'll start by simply saying that I'm definitely starting the Broncos' defense on my fantasy team this week.

I have to say that I hate games like this where in my mind I just can't see how the Broncos lose this game. I never like to get too confident in a win as any team could win on a given Sunday but obviously like the Broncos chances. The Jets just stink at Corner and like to play a lot of Man from what I have seen and well we just saw what playing Man-Coverage against our receivers gets you.

I can't believe how atrocious Dee Millner has been. I actually thought he'd be a stud coming out of 'bama. Still early in his career I suppose, but man, has he been flat out horrible since they picked him.

I totally get you on the not being too confident, but the Jets are in shambles right now, and it doesn't look like things are gonna change any time soon. This is a game we should dominate. I popped the Jets/Chuggers game on a few times Sunday and they just look like a complete mess across the board, and Smith looks to have lost whatever little confidence he had going. Hate to say it, but the Chuggers look like they're gonna be a handful this year. Phyllis really is playing at an MVP type level.

The emergence of Branden Oliver last week could also be a big boost to SD. Kind of looked like a young Sproles.

I keep hoping someone will hand the chargers another loss but it looks like we will have to do it ourselves.

I'm very curious about our RB situation. I can't really see Hillman as the go to back, though he ran pretty well against AZ. Seems to me that he is more of a third down guy, so I wonder whether Anderson or Thompson get the start. Personally, although I think that CJ has shown that he can play, I would really like to see what Juwan can do as the starter. Probably won't be too much of an issue this week, since the Jets have been much more vulnerable to the pass than the run and our offense has obviously had more success throwing than running the ball. Still, I know that wind and weather can be an issue at NYJ, so I'd like to feel that we can run the ball at least a little.

On paper their schedule does look pretty favorable. We might have to beat them twice in order to win the division, and even that might not be enough. Probably too early in the season to worry about that, though.

I actually love that we finally have a race for the division. We have had it handed to us the last couple of years and honestly because the last couple of games only mattered for seeding purposes I just think we have lost some of that fight heading into the playoffs. I cannot wait to see the Chargers and us face off. First things first though and need to get through the Jets...

Now MrDoc I do agree we should just come out and whoop them. We just saw though the Patriots go through this with getting whooped on the road to then go home after being embarrassed. Usually those type of teams put up at least a little fight. Now thankfully the Jets don't have a quarterback or even close to the talent that the Patriots have so I still expect a win but maybe not by as much as some would hope. Who knows though some teams in that situation just decide "Screw it" and quit. Maybe if we are the second shut out in a row on the Jets you could see Rex Ryan sweating a bit of how much longer he has a job.

I do think one of the great things on our team is we have such a mix of veterans who can keep this team focused yet youth that have the energy to go out every week and compete.

I would say the last 5 games of the season I will be very surprised if they can win all of those except the one against us. This opening part of the schedule other than Arizona and Seattle has been very favorable for them but yeah end of the year looks crazy. Our schedule isn't quite as crazy to end it with 3 very winnable home games, a winnable game at Arrowhead, then 2 tough ones with San Diego and Cincinnati on the road.

As for the run game I honestly expect Ronnie Hillman to start. I am not sure what CJ Anderson did to get put in the dog house but the fact that he went from #2 back to not even active speaks to something happened. Throw in Hillman went out and had the best game of any back of the year in just a handful of carries and fits the bill of the type of back that just gave the Jets problems against San Diego. Hillman has ability. I have not fully given up on him. His problem has always been concentration whether that be holding onto the ball or just making the proper read of where the hole is on a consistent basis.

Looking at the SD schedule a bit more closely, you are definitely right that their last five games are not at all favorable: @ Baltimore, v. NE, v. Denver, @ SF, and @KC. Should be tough for them to escape at least two losses over that stretch.

And you are probably right about Hillman too. Still, I want to see want Thompson can do! I don't claim to have an eye for talent, but to me, he looks like he could be a pretty special player.

I'm hoping they do a 50/50 thing with Hillman and Thompson. I honestly want to see what both of them can do. Hillman has shot himself in the foot so many times in his time with the Broncos that it almost has become a joke. He starts getting some momentum to only then fumble on the one yard line kind of thing. So again would love to see him get some carries and see what he can do. He is the one back we have that could be the type to completely change a game around with one carry. He showed that in the Arizona game with his speed through the hole being a big difference. Unfortunately with our OL you have to hit the hole quickly as they don't keep it open long. I do think this was part of Ball's problem is he was almost too patient at times.

I think Rex is already sweating it up. He`s probably one more embarrassing loss away from losing his job. Don`t be surprised to see Qb Matt Simms activated from practice squad very soon. He certainly couldn`t be any worse than Smith or Vick.

Yeah I believe it will be Hilman and Thompson and not CJ this wknd. CJ wasn`t activated last wk so they could add an extra Db. Now why it wasn`t Thompson instead of CJ goes to your comment about maybe CJ landed himself in doghouse for some reason. Being interesting to see if they activate Bibbs instead of CJ. That would certainly be a telling move. I also heard Denver was either working out some rbs or entertaining the idea since Ball went down. :noidea:

I heard the reason CJ was a healthy scratch is he doesn't play on special teams. Apparently Thompson is also on the special teams squad? Anyway, with Ball a scratch for a little while it opens up a spot that I wouldn't be surprised to see CJ fill in. Don't be surprised if Thompson gets dropped back down the depth chart.

I'd prefer to see a combo of Hillman and Thompson. Hillman broke some nice runs through the gaps last weekend, and I've been intrigued by Thompson since preseason and think he should get a shot.

I agree on the Hillman/Thompson combo. It would be great if we got an early lead so that the running game could have a little more of a chance to flourish. We definitely need to see that part of the offense come alive.

As for the broken coverages by the DBs, it was atrocious, but I expect that to be addressed (and cleaned up) in practice this week. If they react like they should to playing such a sloppy game, we could see A LOT of sacks on Sunday.

Wasn't long ago folks wanted to see Anderson get his shot. Now it's like he's an afterthought. Anderson's averaging about 5 yards per carry. I'd say he should go ahead of Thompson.
