Depends on if you're ranking based on potential or what's been done on the field. Minn is undefeated, but they've struggled against UNLV (3OT), Western Mich, and Syracuse. Purdue has looked good in all their games. But yupp, Minn should be ranked instead of purdue at this point.

Well I don't know much about both Purdue or Minnesota (did see their game at UNLV). I was just going by records and competition. I was really close to ranking the Gophers. I hope they do well.

You have KState at #2 although all they've done is beat an "always overrated" OU team?

Oregon at 6 even thought they drubbed a ranked team 49-0?

And yes, I'm the guy with Baylor in my top 10.

Why? because they finished last season ranked in my poll...I don't erase last season's results during the off season. Now, we all know Baylor isn't going to survive the season unscathed. By the time we get to the end of the season my top 2 teams will almost certainly match that of the BCS.

Ok I have several issues with most peoples polls

1. Why is Kansas State so LOW in many polls? They just knocked of Oklahoma in Norman. Very few teams do that. They play tough defense like an SEC team.

I cant answer this

2. Why is Ohio State ranked? They nearly lost to crappy Cal and UAB. Please. Plus they can't go to a bowl game. Some people have them in the 10-12 range.

Because they are undefeated, something a lot of teams cannot say. Also, i do not care if they cant go to a bowl game, i dont see what that has to do with where they are ranked.

3. Baylor? Somebody has them in the top ten when it took a miracle for them to get by a Sunbelt team.

He used his final poll from last year as his preseason poll and moved teams up/down based on this year and Baylor has won. But that Sunbelt team they beat did pretty good against Auburn.

4. Iowa State? Huh? What? Never heard of them so why are they in the poll.

I think people like to rank teams that havent lost, and they are one of them.

5. Why is Florida so low? They beat a 3-1 TN team and a now 2-1 A&M team on the road and shut out UK last week. Why are they not in the top ten?

Tennessee is overrated, IMO. I probably should have ranked them higher, but Ohio State and WVU are the only team with worse resumes, and i think West Virginia > Florida.

I think i explained this one earlier. But i would assume the other people not voting for Oklahoma have undefeated teams ranked.

Boise State re-entered my poll as they were one of the first teams to lose this season (Friday of week 1) and have therefore worked their way back up to #25 by winning while others lose. I did debate putting Ohio or UTSA ahead of them and maybe I should have.

Because we watched the game and saw Oklahoma pretty much give the ball to Kansas State three times, and decided that Oklahoma has some serious problems....in other words they're not that good so the win wasn't as impressive as it should have been.

Minnesota barely beat Western Michigan and took 3 overtimes to beat UNLV. Other than a loss to Notre Dame, a fate that Michigan State and Michigan also suffered, Purdue has looked far more convincing.

I ranked Tennessee high after the first week, but I expected Florida to win the game between them. So is auburn good or bad? I didn't think LSU was impressive at all in that game, and you said Baylor shouldn't be ranked because it took them a miracle to beat ULM (who beat Arkansas and went into overtime against auburn). I'm not going to pick and choose which weeks auburn is considered good and which ones they aren't.

Polls are tough at this point

I left out USC on purpose (and have the last two weeks). Just don't think they're very good when they play someone with a pulse. Nebraska is a better football team than UCLA is, and to be honest, anyone "ranked" in the 20's shouldn't expect to stay there unless they win against a higher ranked team or win impressively.

I think the ND bias is finally fading, how they're not in the top 10 is beyond me. Ranked 11th last week and having Clemson and OU losing, they should have moved up to at least the 9 spot. Holding both Michigan teams to a combined 9 points is no easy task. The top 4 teams are all loaded, even despite LSU's close call. Oregon's offense might be the most exciting unit in football, college or pro.
