Thank goodness Abe Lucas is returning today... This season Forsythe and Jerrell have struggled mightily, with Forsythe ranking 74th out of 76 tackles and Jerrell ranking 75th out of 76 in PFF rankings...He won't be the savior at this point since it's been almost 11 months since he's played a game... He'll need a few games to get his legs under him... I hope he doesn't get injured in doing so...

I don't expect us to win today but I do expect us to show some improvement on both sides of the ball...

Seattle has the worst 3rd down yardage average since 1980 at 8.9 yards per line to gain on 3rd down... That has to improve, right?

Seattle is leading the league in penalties (seems like a theme for too many years)... 8.3 penalties per game... The most holding calls in the NFL (2.11 per game) and the 3rd most false starts per game (1.89) and 4th most delay of games (0.56)...

3 bad snaps that resulted in a -63 yards over the past 2 games have killed us... We've had 5 total this year that have resulted in -89 yards and 2 of those snaps were in the red zone... This has to improve, right?

Every game seems to have the look of a bunch of strangers coming together and playing for the first time. It goes wrong, and then we come back the next game and it's the same thing like Groundhog Day.

Maybe Abe Lucas helps, but when's the last time he played a football game in the NFL -- over a year ago? I honestly don't even remember what he looks like on the field in a Seahawks uniform. And now we have a new center to throw another variable in there. I have to think it might actually get worse before it gets better, but I hope to be proven wrong.

Good to get DK back I suppose. He was near the top of the league in rec yards before missing a couple games, and our offense is certainly more explosive (at least in terms of potential) when he's out there. I just have waning confidence that we can give Geno the time to use his weapons properly. Our passing game appears to be drop, chuck & pray most of the time. Either the first read is there, or it's a negative play.

Geno isn't the thing holding us back, but if we are doing nothing through the first 2 quarters, I wouldn't mind a switch to Howell just to see if it creates a spark.

I'm kind of whatever with Abe Lucas. He had major concerns coming out of college that he may not have a long NFL career. The surgery was obviously successful, but it could easily be reinjured. That said, if he can by the end of the season get back to a high level, it at least solves one problem in the offseason. We still need to address every interior position... Doesn't seem like the coaches really like Oluwatimi since they went and got Williams who was just as big of a flop. Concerning we spent a 3rd rounder on Haynes and he wasn't even on the active roster against the Rams...

And this no huddle thing and then checking with the sideline while the clock ticks down to 1 has gotta go. Sorry Grubb, but I think it's one of the reasons the OL is false starting, delaying, snaps are bad (rushed), etc. I think the OL is at times confused what they're doing because of what Grubb is doing.

Noah Fant is inactive. He has to be one of this season's most disappointing players.

Kittle also inactive, so we catch a little bit of a break there. Still tons of firepower to deal with.

IMO start Barner the rest of the season. Fant is going to be a cut anyway next year and unless he went full Kittle/Kelce mode everyone basically knew that. Let's see if a 4th round pick worked out and if it does and Lucas is able to return and be effective by season end, that is a HUGE relief for next year.

Seattle IMO isn't making the playoffs (that was obvious to me after the Pats game, where they barely eeked one out against a dumpster fire team not even starting their top 3 pick) and if they sneak in, they're not going anywhere anyway. Get the young guys out there. It annoyed me to no end last year that Pete kept younger guys on the sidelines (like Bryant, Hall, Charbs, etc.) Get them out there and see what you have. Thankfully we're doing that with Knight and because Williams flat out left, we get to see what's there in Olu.

I'm not saying "THROW THE SEASON" by any stretch, but see what you have... Seattle has kind of been in this purgatory for the last few years where we think we can make the playoffs, so we keep plugging in older players and quick patches... and it just kind of leaves you in mediocrity. When Pete first came to Seattle, after his first season he basically cut everyone old/overpaid and just plugged in a bunch of young guys with fresh legs/talent and said, "Go get it." We kind of need to do the same I feel here. Sadly next year is not a great cap position for us... John correctly cleaned house when there was no cap and then it gave us a TON of money in year 2 of their regime... we don't have that luxury next year, but we need to cut a lot of guys and move on. And resigning Geno/DK/Walker IMO is not the correct move.

I kind of almost want to do see if Howell has anything because he's so young (although QB is the hardest position in sports, that's a bit different and you want to make sure your QB has earned it) even though I don't think that's going to happen. Geno has made some mistakes this year and gone emo at times, he's still IMO done a fine job, so I don't think he deserves to lose his job. I just kind of want to see if Howell has any chance. We got to see Lock plenty, and it was very obvious that wasn't - so we were able to move on.

This game will be ugly. They spent the off week going over both the offense and defense looking to simply and fix what they can. It's not going to change the outcome this week. The problem is both lines being sub par and SF will reiterate that point.

Scheme, play calling, and Geno's inconsistencies aren't the most glaring issues.

Yah probably.... another starting linebacker and now the Center is gone... and Bradford looked HORRIBLE against the Rams...

Again Wizard, I've said on other threads and forums I'm basically 'whatever' at this point. I am looking forward to see if Knight has developed and what Barner can do... and I'd just get Bradford outta there and start Haynes (we spent an early 3rd on him, c'mon)... IMO plug in the young guys. I don't think it's helpful to start Howell right now... Also curious to see what this Jobe kid is gonna bring.

If Geno throws that ball to DK a yard farther it's a huge play.

A playaction after snapping under center? *Rubs eyes* - I know it was incomplete (a little underthrown), but I'm baffled right now.

JSN should have a big day. SF doesn't cover the slot well and he's fast.
