Good win for NE.

NEs limited offense looked good. Kudos to Dorsett and Brady for finally getting on the same page. O-line did a nice job protecting Brady against a good D.

NE's D looked good.

NE turnovers will be addressed during the week.

The Pats let the Texans back in it in the 4th with a series of turnovers and mistakes but the other 3 quarters were very solid. The D contained Watson real well harassing him all day and the O-line kept Brady clean... Very nice.

Dorsett looked good and Gronk's TD was great.

Defense played better than expected at first, but exhibited the same vulnerabilities as last year as the game wore on (not getting off blocks and getting gashed on the ground). Pash rush was good, Watson had happy feet and looked like a rookie out there.

Only his seventh career start, for all intents and purposes he pretty much still is a rookie.

Happy to see Matty P took his bend and break defense to Detroit with him.

Hill officially done for the year, torn ACL...come on down, Ralph!
This really sucks. I was thinking Hill was going to have a nice year for NE? Then to have it happen on such a fluke play. A fumble by Gronk and getting hit by your own player sucks.

We may get to see Webb? This could be the start of Lewis 2.0?

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have released WR Chad Hansen and WR Riley McCarron. In addition, the Patriots placed RB Jeremy Hill on injured reserve.

Hansen, 23, was claimed off waivers and awarded to New England on Sept. 2, 2018. The 6-foot, 202-pounder was drafted by the New York Jets in the fourth round (141st overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft out of California. He played in 15 regular-season games with one start last year and posted nine receptions for 94 yards.

McCarron, 25, was signed by the Patriots to the 53-man roster from the practice squad on Sept. 6, 2018. The 5-foot-8, 198-pounder played in his first NFL game this past Sunday vs. Houston. McCarron spent the 2018 offseason with the team and was released on the final cut-down before being signed to the practice squad. He originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Houston out of Iowa. He began his rookie season on the Houston practice squad before finishing the season on the New England practice squad after signing on Sept. 22, 2017.

Typical Patriots roster moves. The 53 man roster has three holes to fill and two are WR. They don't have experienced WR on the PS so we should expect to see a FA signing. All of the big networks are saying that the Patriots have no interest in Dez Bryant but Dez is talking up being on the same line with Edelman, Gronk and Hogan and being able to prove he still is a major player.

No word on Hill's replacement. We'll get some idea when the team has practice today.

Not to worry NE has Develin as a 3rd down receiving back now. He was targeted 4 times and had 4 catches. The new secret weapon. Heck his best year he only had 10 total catches.

Develin has always been able to catch. The reason he's on the team is to block / lead block.
He occasionally chips and catches out of the backfield but you cannot make that play too often or it loses effectiveness.

He can also play tight end.....
