Sorry BS, but to explain it to you would be giving your argument an element of credence. I'll just leave it as is and you can thrill yourself in being correct.

Oh i see now. "stupid premise", "ridiculous" when i ask you to defend your opinion, you resort to i can't really explain it. You said nothing to show why it's a bad idea, just merely it's a bad idea in your little head.

Tank the season. It's hopeless this year. Only the fools don't see it.

Lets assume a miracle happens and we're able to get a quality QB prospect (without tanking). That QB will likely take 2 years to develop. Hicks will be 32 and a free agent. Mack will be 31 (and has a potential to be out). Quinn will be 32. Roquan and Kyle Fuller will be a free agents. And that's not even looking at the offense. This defense will be a shell of what it is now, then.

Missing on a high QB pick screws an organization for 4 years.

The easiest path is to start over, tank and start selling these pieces for high picks while they still have high value.

And what if you go all in and fix the offense by selling off the defense and by the time your QB gets going you lose games because you have a defense that can't stop anyone from scoring?

The Bears window on defense is open for at least 2 years. 3-4 years isn't unthinkable. So many of the major pieces....Goldman, Smith, Mack, Fuller, Johnson, Ejax....are either in their prime, will stay in their prime for the next 2-3 years, or haven't even entered their prime yet.

Roquan has entered All Pro territory and the Bears might have the best cornerback tandem in football.

Selling off this defense would be just as bad as the time the Bears let Mel Tucker become DC.

There is one glimmer of hope.

Aaron Rogers is a free agent after this year. But of course idiot Bear fans don't like him either...(rolls eyes)

Wrong. Rodgers still has three more years on his contract but you could trade for Darnold.

So the options are:

1. Go all in and try to find a young QB of the future and rebuild the defense/team around this QB or
2. Keep doing what we're doing and hope new coaching/management will fix the offense within the next two years before we lose key pieces on defense due to old age or free agency and get nothing in return

I'll take my chances with 1. We've been 2 for the 30 (maybe 40) years.

Because without a QB we're screwed anyway.

The worst thing that can happen to this team right now is to win.

Keep losing, gotta hit bottom.

Bears don't really have a path to a top 10 pick. And this draft will be a good one for taking tackles and guards. Where they are currently sitting they can invest well on the offensive line through the draft.

The QB of the future is unlikely to be had in next years draft.

The only good that comes out of losing is the McCaskey's decided to terminate Ryan Pace.

Shhhh, some people apparently think if we lose out the rest of the year, ie tank, we'll be in for a really really really high draft pick. Because really really really high draft picks are what will turn us into an instant winner.

Tanking in football is nonsense.

Not playing 100% is how you get hurt. Not to mention the terrible message it sends to your players and fans.
